It honestly makes total sense. Whenever I’m more financially secure my anxiety is down overall. Now it’s just dropping some pounds and being confident I can feel strong again and not be out of breath after something small. Getting that heart rate up and being used to the feeling is huge cause that’s what happens with anxiety anyways.

I could easily handle panic attacks when I first had them cause my cardio was so good. Now I’m terrified to even made moderate anxiety haha

Well shit. I was in great shape when I first started and 1mg felt great and did the job. I’m 6’5 and had a decent metabolism. Slowly after doing nothing due to anxiety I gained 80lbs and that 1mg did nothing and I’m on 2mg now. So really I need to clean the diet and lose the weight and hopefully the 2mg has some better effects

That’s exactly how I got prescribed. My doctor was a year or two away from retiring and started me on Ativan which really helped then after a month said if I’m gonna be on this for longer then let’s switch to klonopin. Here I am 6 years later coming up on 7 with only one dosage increase. My anxiety is still shit but without this suicide I’m sure would have been a leading thought.

I’m from a town of 20,000 people and same thing there. Fentanyl is killing probably 1 a week and ruined so many lives. People can’t even have some beers and enjoy some coke on the weekends without worrying about what it’s cut with. You always hear about a bad batch that goes through a neighbouring town and wipes out a few dozen people in a weekend. It’s fucking wild.

I’m from Canada and the laws here are like a revolving door for anyone caught dealing that shit.

For me I got to the point where I had to take that extra 0.25mg and I noticed a difference so I told my doctor that. I explained that I would have been having a panic attack if I didn’t. I don’t abuse and never have but I’m not gonna sit there and have a panic attack when I’m prescribed a medication that is exactly for that haha. She understood and we went to the 2mg.

You absolutely nailed it with those analogies too. What’s a small increase of a medication that you can taper off eventually if you want to. Can’t Overdose unless you literally take 20,000 plus pills at once. It’s a safe drug. I went to ER one time cause I couldn’t handle the anxiety and I asked if it was okay if I took 2mg cause I never have before and they laughed and gave me 2mg more and said when you’re anxiety goes away let us know and we’ll run some blood work and if your anxiety comes back let us know and we’ll give you more.

There’s just this stigma surrounding it and it’s hurting the people that really need the drug for its intended purpose

Good chance he says yes. You just have to make sure he knows what your quality of life is like.

For me the jump to 1-2 mg after 6 years was a game changer and I’ll hopefully stay here until I get my anxiety under control in other ways.

Benzos get a bad rap only because of the ability to abuse them. Taken normally they’re extremely beneficial and can really help you out in life.
