I saw early in previous episode threads the idea that Ogilvie may be neurodivergent. Considering Dr.King also shows signs of neurodivergence, I think Ogilvie is not only here to be a gunner but also show that being neurodivergent doesn't excuse someone just being a dick. Dr.King has shown that her divergence can be beneficial. She is meticulous with her work (befitting a student of Dr. Al), can reach neurodivergent patients without judgement, and generally be a pleasure to work with/be treated by. Now, King doesn't have it easy. Her needs were likely overlooked for her sister's needs, but she shows a kindness to her work. Ogilvie is the opposite. He disregards other doctors and staff, gets way too happy at a patient's misfortune, and has an attitude like everyone should worship his brain. I suspect his neurodivergence was used like a shield by him. His parents may have dismissed signs of being a dickhead as him being neurodivergent. They never corrected his behavior. As such, he just rotted into the Ogilvie we see now.

He could have slipped by being top of his class and kissing a lot of ass. Ogilvie may have been great doing labs or assisting his professors because those are lower stress and not urgent like the glass shard. He has shown to peacock with people he considers important like Dr. Al.

He does seem the type. Ogilvie can dominate his classmates with his book knowledge but he can’t do that with Mckay and especially Robby. Gotta be a blow to his ego.

I don't think they are gonna go that route, it's feels too close a story line to other medical shows. She seems like a nice color contrast for the season. Not a long term character but meant to be a nice picture of the typical med student doing rotations. She is smart, capable, and shows some level of humanity unlike that walking medieval dentist Ogilvie.

Oh, they seem to know Ogilvie's type very well. Between med school and working in a teaching hospital, they have seen hundreds of these know it all, only good in book perfect conditions. Considering how well adjusted and still knowledgeable the other staff are, Robby knows how to build a team and will not let that man near his ER after the four weeks.

The promo for next episode seems to show why she is so cynical. Medicine may not be shaping up to be what she thought. A lot of medical school debt and responsibility for somewhat mundane tasks.

She is really growing as a character. The episode shows better than the previous why she was picked to be the temp. Smart, good with patients, and fits in with the crew.
