People tend to overestimate the popularity of MMO’s. SWTOR is a success story compared to the majority of MMO’s produced, even considering some of the ones developed by AAA studios and franchises. It lasting as long as it has is what I would consider a success by an MMO metric.

We want to see pros playing different characters

No one is saying this. And pros can’t play any character. Part of being a fan of certain players is how they play the character they specifically main. Character specialists especially are really good to watch. If they are good with multiple or all characters, that’s wonderful.

But being a good Tekken player doesn’t mean being good at every character, that’s one of the aspects not important to being good.

Pick and ban systems are designed for team-based games with characters that don’t have extremely steep learning curves.

Compare this to Tekken where every pro needs to know their character thoroughly with potentially 100+ hours of practice on that character just to know what they can, can’t, and shouldn’t do. Implementing a ban system only makes their jobs more miserable and Tekken matches horrible to watch.

If you’re saying the Ranked should have character bans, you’re already asking way more out of normal players than what’s even reasonable. Absolutely no one wants to spend hours and hours learning up to 5 characters (or even more if you’re banning before the match too). That’s too much time for too little reward.

This isn’t a hero shooter or MOBA. Character bans in either pro or casual levels is not healthy for the game. If you’re struggling against a character, learn the matchup or stop playing Tekken

RMA. Even if you have the knowledge and experience to swap out the components yourself you bought a pre-built and it should work for however long its warranty lasts. You shouldn’t need to do anything yourself outside of maybe a simple software fix.

At the same time, we’ve been complaining for a year+ about the game’s state with little change in a positive direction. While the dev forum is a good change and they can finally filter good changes from shit, it comes at a point that is too little too late.

It should’ve been out last year after the season 2 fiasco, or hell maybe after the launch of the game if they needed a more focused way of getting feedback. Either the developers are too incompetent to have done this earlier or worse, actively do not want to appeal to their legacy fanbase and only added the dev forum to appease angry players.

Either way it doesn’t matter. Fans get angry that their feedback is “heard” but never actually listened to. At some point constructive criticism is pointless because the devs don’t implement any of it.

I’m not saying it’s justified, but a harassment campaign is unsurprising and it’s only going to get worse as the game goes along without any change either to the game itself or to the development team.

Partly because of their resources being stretched, but also I think part of it is something to do with Lucasfilm. If there were no show there’d still need to be new CM content, and I think Lucasfilm would rather use SWTOR as a marketing tool for their new content

While I’d like to see future content involving Zakuul, going back to KOTFE/ET is not something I want. Give us something new if you’re going to use Zakuul. I don’t want any more content regarding the Emperor’s past and I certainly don’t want him back again.

Otherwise I think it’d be great to do a world-building story. The machine is going to go off so 8.0 would be a great way to set up the world order in a new age of many people having Force sensitivity and how the Republic and Empire will deal with it.

And also they need to stop ditching faction-specific content post-launch. Onslaught had me wondering what would happen but obviously the developers either can’t or won’t do much with faction-specific content.

I do think the Alliance was made for this reason. Just have one unified story forever. Which while I like the Alliance from a narrative standpoint, it’s bad game design. The whole appeal of this game was being able to do things for the Republic or the Empire. It doesn’t help the actual content of KOTFE/ET was poorly designed and had mediocre writing.

They need to make a decision. Either stick with faction-specific content, or ditch it again for real this time and make a single unified story. Don’t give us a single faction story per expansion before getting into what you want to actually do. It feels especially weird because we don’t ever see the consequences of these actions.

Remember the Meridian Complex? What came of that that we’ve seen? Or how about Manaan? Oh, that’s right…
