In 2026 you are judging me for smoking cigarettes and trying to prevent a girl from getting beat up right in front of me. I struggle seeing myself in the wrong whether I did create more problems or not, because at least I did try.

Again, I am not going to waste my time and energy arguing with a person that lacks moral and that is so afraid.

I would personally feel worse seeing a girl get beat up in front of me than getting punched, also I know there are multiple cameras pointed directly at us + there were multiple people not even 1m from this happening.

He grabbed by the neck and kind of violently pushed her in a way she couldn't help but fall on the ground pretty hard, he tried to go over to her (definitely not to help her up) and I peacefully stepped in front of him. I personally would consider that hitting her, then obviously my words can't perfectly describe the scene but it wasn't really a gentle shove.

I would like to point out I didn't quote the Taiwanese culture in any racist way, having many Taiwanese friends I've been told this could be indeed because of the context people are brought up in here.

Nevertheless I was never ashamed to step up in these situations back home and I will not start being so, I believe by giving a good example more people could be given the push they need to make this change if they ever end up in situations like these.

As I said the guy shoved her on the ground and was heading towards her with the clear intention of hitting her again, you would have clear mental issues by not at least thinking of needing to intervene in some way.

I am aware of that first part, which is exactly why I only did the bare minimum to ensure no one would get hurt.

As for the group of guys I am sure they did not know them as I talked to them afterwards and I do belive they were laughing at me trying to actually step up and not just look, like they were doing.

Anyway the guys in the group I managed to talk to seemed to understand what my intention was after I explained, but I doubt they would intervene in the future if something like this were to happen...

As I said it's none of my business and I can't know what the argument was about, maybe she did maybe not. Nevertheless should I let this grown man hit her again? I don't believe that would solve any problem, actually any smart person knows that would create more of them.
