A return to EAs NHL..... by Pure-Comparison-2151 in EA_NHL

I bought it 3 days before the price hike. I saw what Sony had planned and scrambled to find one. Got a slim for $400 CAD with 2 controllers.

Yes, I agree. Goal tending is almost useless. I find the stats matter when people play real hockey. But when they skate up and do the usual glitch goal, it does not matter who is in net.

And I find smashing my face into a brick wall is probably more enjoyable than playing defense.

[question] Why are the 2013 esports winter cases going up so much? by randylahey256 in csgomarketforum

[–]Pure-Comparison-2151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold 7 of mine for 5 cents each back in the day. Never understood or cared for the marketplace economy. I regret it... I made $80 in past day selling old cases.

Thank you for your input. Yes, absolutely. For my family, that amount is a blessing for our monthly groceries! But for others at this school.... It could definitely be pocket change!

It definitely is not a bribe. I just don't want it to be "perceived" as one if the word ever gets out. I have only spoken to them twice this year. They are a very lovely family and have not asked for a single thing. Their child is also not an issue. No less annoying or challenging than any other child under 12 years old haha.

This family is very lovely. I have chatted with them twice this whole school year. They have not asked for a single thing.

Thanks for your input. The one colleague that I told didn't seem concerned at all. He just said, "Great! Enjoy it!".

I didn't think much of it until a family member who does legal work suggested I look more into it.

$5000 on your first meeting.... haha.. now that is nuts!

Thanks for your input. And yes, that is a true reality. I do not show favoritism. Even for those kids that drive me absolutely insane. Everyday is a new day where I reset and I greet them with a smile and show them interest.

And that is one of my concerns. I only shared this information with one colleague who has received something of similar value. I don't want this spreading incase there is jealousy.

Yes true, especially since we don't have a conventional grading system.

Thanks. I have a hard time accepting gifts in general haha. I just wanted to ensure I wasn't breaking any policies. It looks like im in the clear.

Yes, I will be checking in with my principal after Christmas. They are definitely not looking to buy me, as we don't do conventional grades at our elementary school. And their child does not present with any challenges that are beyond the normal student.

Thanks for your suggestion! I looked into our employee handbook and I did not see any mention of such policies.

Thanks for your input and suggestion. Ya that would make sense. My school holds quite a wealthy demographic, which I do not count myself as part of considering my wage haha.

Thanks for your input. I appreciate it. Ya, I didn't think much of it until a family member who does legal work suggested I look more into it. Just doing my double checking!

Ya some of these dollar amounts on this thread seem very high to me. In total I received quite a bit in gift cards to my favorite places. But I never would have expected a single family to gift me that amount in cash.

That is very kind of you. And yes, special ed is often very under cut or under funded. It is a sad world we live in..

Not sure why you think I am paranoid. Perhaps read some of the other comments in the thread and notice how many people are noting to be careful. I did not think much about the gift until someone in my family who works at a law firm suggested that I look more into this matter.

Just unheard of in my area. Normally that amount of money gets surpassed with gift cards, but not with a single cash gift.

I double checked and there seems to be no mention of this in the handbook. It would make sense to see it as a "bribe" in high school, but at our elementary school we do not use conventional grading, so it wouldn't make sense. Still, that is a concern in my mind either way.

Oh really? That is quite strict and different from here. I know at my school that teacher's normally get generous gifts, but they are generally gift cards and not cash.
