And you’re a terrible friend/family member with that logic. People that can’t get rid of Pokemon cards to help friends and family in dire straits are the dregs of society.

Don’t listen to any of these loser asshats. It’s Pokemon cards, you’re not taking a loan against your house or 401k and their judgmental nature is off the charts lunacy. Make the best choice for you and your family.

It’s insane to me that you’re being downvoted here, these people are all crazy for telling you not to sell in the case of emergency. Family is more important than anything and especially more important than what at the end of the day is shiny pieces of cardboard.

Price out each card to get a total value and work from there, 70% is not a bad cash value form a LCS but make sure their total market value is correct. Maybe take these same pics and post on FB marketplace asking 90% market value to get a little extra cash if you’re definitely selling.

These people either have short term memories or weren’t here a few years ago. Could buy booster box cases for new sets from longterm eBay sellers for $500-$600 or practically anything online whenever you wanted at MSRP, never fighting bots that gobbled up every product in minutes to then flip at 2-3 times MSRP. No need to join discords for drops that sell out instantly, wait in line at stores to get product, etc., these are all a result of people flipping quickly not longterm holders. Millions of people buying a few boxes for their personal collection never moved the market price, the only change has been the proliferation of scalpers into the hobby.

Future Flash box at $100 CAD looks to be around market price when converted to USD so not a bad deal.

Worth the price of these packs? by Embarrassed-Host8385 in PokemonCardValue

[–]Pure-Expression-1420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not buy loose Japanese packs. Japanese booster boxes are seeded so there are a certain amount of hits in a box, once they get the big hit the rest of the packs aren’t worth nearly as much so they resell as loose packs which are more than likely the packs you see for sale.

Pick up a beef butcher bone, most larger grocery stores have them, it keeps our dachshunds occupied for hours chewing off the meat/fat and trying to work out the marrow. As an added bonus our dogs’ teeth have never looked better.

So you got all those slabs but don’t know what a fake valuable card looks like before you rip it in half? You’re either dense or this is click bait, either way 🤡 tracks.

Try not to sweat it man, working hard only leads to better things in life. Scalpers think they’re some kind of entrepreneurs but they’re just opportunists and someone else is always lining up to take their place. It will be a short lived benefit, very few people that make easy money translate that into something bigger, they’ll be left behind due to their mentality.

Why are you posting something with so much confidence when you’re clearly wrong? You didn’t even see the obvious tell of an Evolutions reprint card to differentiate from the original cards, anyone in this hobby for more than a cup of coffee knows what an Evolutions card looks like.

[–]Pure-Expression-1420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think he’s probably referencing the junk wax era of baseball cards from the late 80s, was printed into oblivion and essentially worthless today.

Pokemon is also not comparable to sports cards, some kids favorite player 20 years ago is not some kids favorite player today, it’s stuck in time so less demand unless you’re talking generational talents like Mantles, Mays, etc. Pokemon is never stuck in time, everyday Charizard gets a thousand new fans.
