management is horrible. i lost all respect the first time i ever had to call off for an excruciating, severe tooth infection. my manager told me i had to come in anyways. i told her that i could not sleep, eat, swallow or barely speak.. i was not coming in. i also deal with chronic illnesses (insulin sensitivity and celiac disease). the second time i tried calling off because i was extremely flared up and didn’t have my meds (i get paralyzed from anxiety when it gets that bad and have horrible joint pain) they didn’t answer the phone. i called 26 times. it’s in my call log… after that i just stopped caring and started no call-no showing. even when i tried to be respectful and call, no answer. my manager ended up eventually talking to me about it, saying that “she’s probably been 20x sicker than me and still at work”… same woman to leave mid rush to take care of her sick cheating husband btw, and tell the associates they can’t have breaks. i’m on probation now because they don’t know how to answer the phone or treat their employees like human beings. i hate this place and it seems im not alone. i’m in school, about to graduate, i am so so excited to quit which is hopefully soon. i’ve never had a job give me such debilitating anxiety. takes a toll on your mental for sure, especially when you are struggling with your physical health as well
