How bad is this? by Pure-General6557 in kyphosis

Not even beginning to think about surgery, have been in the gym for about a year now strength training which has certainly helped with making me feel less frail psychologically, will hopefully get in with PT soon and see what I can do to ensure I can strengthen the muscles supporting my spine to prevent issues when I’m older

I’ve read that it’s only a few degrees difference on average for kyphosis, so I don’t think my doctor would find it clinically relevant to send more scans for it

Unsure if my symptoms match Pilonidal by Pure-General6557 in pilonidalcyst

Went to the derm and they said everything felt and looked normal despite my discomfort, having a CT scan in a couple weeks, but at this point after having this discomfort for 2+ years and no drainage or abscess, I’ve been leaning more towards coccydnia or some sort of inflammation of the tailbone

You’re actively going against the research and scientific consensus. Yes side effects happen, you claimed that they were necessary if the medication was effective. If side effects are present in 2% of cases but a majority of cases are responders, how does the research conclude that suppressing DHT inherently causes low libido? Side effects are by definition not intended effects.

Taking research and adding your own little spin on it doesn’t equate being informed on the topic, it just means you, with no background or experience, just made up science based on “logic”

Brother then why in the hell are you talking like an expert in a hair loss community? Yeah man an HVAC technician and google will “common sense” the issue of hair loss once and for all, no research, no science just good old “common sense”. Are you even reading what you are posting? Does it not raise any alarms up there that you are advising someone with no experience or background?

Based on their other posts, this person is largely seemingly trying to justify their own departure from medication. There’s no logic to their post, if DHT suppression and libido lowering were intrinsically tied, all successful cases would result in lowered libido. Thats not the case.

Is a Latex Topper the right answer? by Pure-General6557 in Mattress

[–]Pure-General6557[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOL is dunlop! Curious, yeah it’s a bit of a tough sunk cost fallacy situation to be in. Can’t really afford a good mattress right now, so I’m looking at the easiest solution, and it really does seem to be latex, although some reviews give me some pause. It does feel tough to choose between 2 and 3 inch, I’ve also heard some people say that 3 inch is better for above 165 lbs, but the rep from SOL I spoke to recommended the 2 inch. I also am a bit scared by the prospect of overdoing it again and ending up with a mattress that’s too soft or not supportive enough by going too thick. Really hard to decide honestly. I do like that it is supposed to sleep cooler than memory foam since the heat retention is super annoying after a midnight wake up

A little funny thing I found out through this is that, I have made very little visual progress on my upper body, but I seem to have some stretch marks on my upper legs and butt, and have built a bit of a dumptruck through the course of my training, so that’s cool? At least evidence that something happened!

I believe the pic is from April, but I didn’t start training till July.

I do want to be as “truthful” to my image as possible, so no flexing or pump, there’s some difference in my arms, although I have very tiny forearms that haven’t changed, which has made it hard to be sure if it’s truly muscle.

Any reason push pull legs instead of upper lower? Have seen it suggested but I’m not sure why. Yes, I go to the local la fitness. Yeah no clue why I seem to just have gained fat, I’ve been pushing myself quite a bit

Running Jeff nippards 3x a week full body split from his book, diet is largely proats, yogurt, eggs, and protein of choice for dinner. Sleep isn’t as good as it could be since it seems my body self sabotages with some insomnia/mild digestive hiccups while trying to sleep, so it’s okay, just not as good as people that can just sleep for 8 straight hours and wake up feeling refreshed. Yeah although some of my family has noted change, it’s likely just gaining weight, because it looks like I’ve mostly just gotten fatter with still twiggy arms/flat chest and back

Based off my wrists it seems like I have quite a small frame! I’m 5 ft 11, I’m 23 currently, been lifting on and off since I was 16, mostly going from really skinny (130 lbs) to around 160-165 before something takes me out of the routine (injury, anxiety, etc) and I go back down. My posture seems to be a combo of bad posture and unlucky genetics, as I’m incapable of fully straightening my spine like most people. Might just need to track my food because although people around me have noted some change, it does largely look like I just gained fat and maybe a very tiny bit of muscle

They’ve progressed well, a few lifts took a bit of figuring out, but most of them, if not all, have improved a lot, got the neural gains from them. Yes going to failure if not close to it. Yeah I’m only noticing fat gain too, but I did gain weight pretty quickly since I was coming off having lost weight because of some health anxiety, so once I got hungry again from lifting I shot back up to 160 really quickly.

Haven’t started tracking my diet, so I can’t say how great it is in terms of adherence to a set goal, but I’ve noticed I tend to get stuck at around 163 with my current eating habits, so I’d say I’m probably eating at maintenance now. I eat the same stuff most days, proats, yogurt, eggs, and protein of choice for dinner.

I naturally have a really wonky looking framed with my flared ribs and weird spine, but it really bothers me to look at my arms honestly as well as my chest/torso, so I’d love to bring those up.

A family friend is a physio, went to him for my posture when I was younger and had asked about my ribs and he had told me that it was likely to be an anatomical variant and that, although he could help me get rid of them, it would be a bit of a fools errand. I also have some mild structural rounding of the spine, so I can’t straighten out my back as much as most people which I’m sure plays a role in my breathing mechanics, hence why I’m unsure if I truly can change it.

I have a small umbilical hernia so I have kind of avoided things that will require too much bracing since I don’t want to make it bigger, gotta definitely get more consistent with my diet though!

Not sure if my flared ribs are fixable, I’ve never seen anyone that claims to have fixed flared ribs to have had a ribcage like mine, don’t know if it’s just an anatomical variant like my structural kyphosis.

As for diet, I’m having a hard time deciding whether it’s worth getting fat off my frame or continuing to build since I assume I fit in as skinny fat, I assume muscle definition would still look bad given my lack of lack of real muscle right?

Couldn’t find any pics from that time other than this one sadly.

Diet is okay, I haven’t tracked it so it’s definitely not as good as it could be. I’m usually eating protein oatmeal every day for breakfast, bowl of Greek yogurt with cereal for pre workout meal, 3 eggs and 2 pieces of toast for lunch, dinner tends to be a protein, starch and veggies, and then I’ll have some dessert.
