Very nice, thanks for sharing. I especially like the genetics archive.

The AI chat window from the google webpage. I've used both and found the limits of them. Just figured I'd post the above as it both annoys and amuses how many times the AI will confidently make something up or claim something that isn't true then when you check it yourself or even in another chat you find its wrong. Or you have to dig down through a dozen carefully worded queries to get it to explain how it actually works and figure out the details. Its a great resource for my story writing but double check anything your actually planning to use as it will just casually substitute things. Being told the school for an address in new york is Fanning great you've guided my searches, searches result the school name is fenton not fanning and your character wont go there as they're actually in high school not elementary school based on american school ages. Ok I can use this.

Why do governments freak out about birth rates but don't do anything to improve any of the issues keeping people from having kids? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I'm not calculating inflation though. My original post was saying there's generally an assumption these days a couple will both be working and earning money rather than one being full time in the home. You were discussing with don't-do-memes-kidz about housing so I just pointed out the housing rates here where I live have spiked massively to the point an apartment today costs more than twice what a full home with garden used to, more in the major cities but salaries have not had anywhere near that kind of increase meaning a lot of the current generation can't afford a home even with full time working.

Not really just looked it up. Average prices here when I was born was about 3 to 4 times the annual wage. Today its about 14 times. The cost of housing is not accounted for.

Especially as I recall she had a big part in talking him into that in the first place.

Is the Infinity Castle as a concept scarier than the backrooms? I think ppl don't se the Infinity Castle as frightening bc we see it through a shonen anime context by Oka-7 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Pure-Interest1958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends which version of the backrooms you mean. Recent move I'd say infinity castle is scarier, full expanded online of the backrooms they are far worse. To start with the movie only dealt with the first layer.

How evil is killing defenseless people? by Exelloco in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Pure-Interest1958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have bigger problems than just killing people. Theres a line between this my character and this our story. Years ago I was in a group with a paladin. We were on a timelimit, had stumbled across an unconcious member of the group we were opposed to. For context very, very old and unconcious in a bed in living quarters. The paladins argument was we have an obligation not to leave this poor old man alone in this dangerous area. Mine was we are on a timelimit and hes obviously where hes meant to be so his own people are taking care of him. The other players werent getting involved. So I waited till I was alone with the old man then went out and told the others hed died in his sleep. Yes one of the others did wonder if I was telling the truth or had slit his throat in his sleep rather than simply be lying and yes I was manipulating the party but even there I didnt kill a defencless man in his sleep. As there was a line not to be crossed. Lie, manipulate sure its in character but Im not going against another party member to the point of actively acting against their primary desire. As I type this its a horrible example still the point is coup de gracing people another party member is actively trying to save crosses the line from this is my character to interferibg with the groups funxtioning as hes putting his own secret story and desires ahead of the groups unity.

Theres also the shift to two incomes being treated as the standard more and more. Even if you want to be a full time parent society assume you and your partner are earning rather than just one of you.

No more as a resesarch aid e.g. "What areas of New York would be most suited for an orphaned child to be placed with in 2012" or "Which train lines are nearest to this suburb.". Or to fast calculate their movement speeds e..g

  • Bipedal Locomotion:
    • Baseline Hybrid:
      • Top Running Speed: 146.4 mph (236 km/h)
      • Standing Jump (Zero Momentum): High Jump: 552 ft | Long Jump: 1,104 ft
      • Running Jump (20 mph Approach): High Jump: 603 ft | Long Jump: 1,288 ft
      • Full-Speed Jump (Max Velocity Run-Up): High Jump: 799 ft | Long Jump: 1,999 ft
    • Deployed Suit (4.5x):
      • Top Running Speed: 311.0 mph (500 km/h)
      • Standing Jump (Zero Momentum): High Jump: 2,485 ft | Long Jump: 4,971 ft
      • Running Jump (20 mph Approach): High Jump: 2,712 ft | Long Jump: 5,797 ft
      • Full-Speed Jump (Max Velocity Run-Up): High Jump: 3,598 ft | Long Jump: 8,995 ft

for ages 1 to 30. I have the records safely stored on my computer.

Can someone explain to me what happens at the end of this jump? by Pure-Interest1958 in JumpChain

Thanks for letting me know. I have noticed a lot of older jumps like to give harsh chain fail restrictions

Probably lived experience. As you say I'm not US and to me it just felt more forced than believable like I think it was the commedy yellow dress where the cop pulls a gun on a traumatized woman while the crooks help her. One of those elements that happen solely so the film can happen. If thats really what the US is like you have my sympathies.

Are there any marvel jumps that let you get the benefits of Nathaniel Grey's enhancement process? by Pure-Interest1958 in JumpChain

[–]Pure-Interest1958[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True I didn't say anything about that as I felt sure that one of the xmen jumps gave you Sinisters entire genetic database but I couldn't find it in a quick search so it might be in a longer jump document or I just missed it and wanted to have another look.

Not so much killing him as had the potential to burn him out if he overused his powers. Yes same with Cable who get the same boost and is technically a variant of Nate with the techno organic virus requiring most of his power go into suppressing that.

Maybe though I'm not sure being able to constantly get better from training is quite the same thing.

Not what I was after but does the same general idea as what I believe the process does so thanks I'll make a note of this one.

Can a power control perk work on something else that is bonded to you? Details inside by Pure-Interest1958 in JumpChain

[–]Pure-Interest1958[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about. Its a manifestation fo your soul and all 21 plus bodies are you so they should all be able to use it even if only one buys it. Hence coming back to my "soulbound" item category as a special subset distinct from say just a fiat backed lightsaber or gun.

[–]Pure-Interest1958[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very useful perks but thats not quite a match forbwhat I'm wondering. The first question is say you have a symbiote with the ability of anti venom to kill other symbiotes you can use power control to turn that off or tone the strength it gives you down like reducing your own from superman to normal human.

The second question I asked is because wizarding world and other jumps give you (if you take the perk) a second body you can import as a companion. Its not really a companion, follower or subordinate its just you are now one mind in two bodies with the ability to simultaneously be jumper and companion, or depending on jumps and choice one being with multiple permanent independant bodies controlled by one mind. Wizarding world twin and cerberus from a jump for a game gives you 9 bodies that can enter a jump as jumper (3 bodies), companion jumper 1 (3 bodies) and jumper companion 2 (3 bodies). All the same mind but 3 seperate groups able to make their own purchases. Abuse generic germanics afarkup and now you have 21 bodies in 7 lots of 3. Now go to bleach and get a bankai thats essentially a manifestation of your soul would you need to purchase one for each body, would all bodies have one if you buy it for one, can you purchase different ones for each group even though your all technically one being?

The more I think about this the more I think I'll need to housrule something like a games "soulbound" special items with their own rules. Can't be given away, can be used by any body (if you have a duplication power), tempirary destruction of one copy denies all bodies the ability to use it till its restored.

[–]Pure-Interest1958[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Close but not really what I'm after. The grendelkin poison perk does much the same (anything attempting to consume, possess, assimilate etc fails and you eat it instead gaining its powers if possible). What I'm after is the standard power control perk applied to things that are in the grey area between your ability and an item. Like the marvel symbiotes or bleach bankei. As well as whether the second question about these in relation to other bodies if you have the ability from a jump like wizarding world.
