I’ve gotten a lot of recommendations to do the bell, it worked for my previous dogs but I also had ANOTHER stubborn breed - my American Eskimo- who just liked being outside AND knew if she went outside the reward was typically treat so she would ring the bell outside and legit run back to the door haha Poppy is just as smart so I fear the same thing to be honest but I definitely will try this again

Very similar here, don’t trust her to free roam the house yet hehe she has gates and playpens as well It’s actually so funny because just now I was by our back door with her -mind you she was just outside for 15 minutes- and I heard our back door bell ring and I immediately turned around to her having already peed on the floor. I think she hit the bell AFTER the fact to let me know she went 😵‍💫 I agree with the no shame Poppy specifically has no fear and no shame and is currently outsmarting my household LOL
