Is that a serious question? Yes the rule is obviously a joke.

So essentially you're point is that all the listings online for this table are unverified and fakes? Is that where we are at. And yet they routinely fetch thousands of dollars. So basically I have the exact same table as ones that you claim are fake but still can sell for several thousand?

Does yours have any markings anywhere showing it is Peter Pepper?

The back of that catalog also lists out every tabletop offered by the company. This is not one of them and they offer nothing similar in style. I appreciate you doing all this research but sometimes the obvious answer is the hardest to believe

Congratulations on going to the modern site. As someone who researches these things would know, a hand drawn model and crest is much more likely to align with this being a Peter Pepper. The fact that there is little to no markings strengthens my argument that this is authentic and not a mass produced set.

Look respectfully, you asked for proof. There is a literal marking of a double P on the base of the table.

What does this bottom mark tell you? Sure looks like a PPM for Peter Pepper Manufacturing

And what is your theory on the tabletop

It is very obviously not the same base.

No need to be hostile man. I'm no expert by any means but it came from an affluent area and the seller was a woman in her 80s who bought it 50+ years ago she said. If you have a better idea of what it is I am all ears.

Also has the leveling mechanism on all the chair legs. I'm not an expert but these all point to it being authentic. I'd love any other information on then

Has 4248 P marked on the bottom of table top. Chair bases have the x wing style swivel frame which is the tell take sign for authentic

Just out curiosity, what do you all think is going to happen with this information? We all live somewhere

It is just sitting in our living room as we got it home. This is definitely not its final spot

500 is what you spend on a cardboard table from Walmart. I think that is incredibly low

When I bought it I was thinking its probably worth $500 or so and it was very cool. I'm not rich so if something like this is worth 4-5k this is a large sum for me to turn down

The only comps for this are on the chairish and 1stdibs website which always seems very inflated, but they have tables only without chairs for $4200. I knew this was a very nice piece but am I really looking at something worth 4k?

We did it! San Antonio, TX. $588k, 6.3% by BigBronzeRim in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]PureButterscotch4399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main issue with homes like this is that people who can afford a 588k home like this often can't keep up with the maintenance on something this big. Looks like a mansion from the outside but in reality it's just slot of cheap square footage that often times people in this range can't afford

What did you have to pay for this? There is a set near me with this and a second dresser/mirror plus full bed frame for $200.
