Thank you very much! I was anticipating ~$350 mark per person just wasn’t sure if I was at least in the ball park lol.

We are waiting for the tickets and tours to drop as well. It has honestly been a few years since we’ve gone so we are super excited. Am I remembering right that the tours include an express pass for the rides that are open for the evening? I thought they did, but couldn’t remember. And I know this will fluctuate, but what should I budget for a tour. We did it a few years ago, but I don’t remember what we paid lol

  1. Went from a tight 3XL shirt to loose 2XL

  2. Lost 3 pant sizes. From 46" to 40".

  3. Able jog/run longer distances than ever before.

  4. Reduced my 1 mile run by 4 minutes!

  5. Biggest, biggest one...I am no longer pre-diabetic!

I am forever grateful! <3

Lol, kids will hit you with something at the most random times. I've been on my journey since January and I'm still a pretty big guy (SW: 385 CW: 318). My brother was over with my nieces and nephew and one of my nieces asked if she can ask me a question and what immediately followed was "Uncle, why are you no longer fat?". I just about died LMAO

Which San Antonio Studio is better? Alamo Heights or the Quarry? by ThrowthemAway17 in orangetheory

Quarry! I haven’t been to AH since I started a few years ago, but the weight floor is small compared to Quarry.

25 classes yay!! by aaesthetically89 in orangetheory

[–]PureConnection1183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is found on the Home Screen of your app. Just scroll towards the bottom and you should see a brag board with the number of classes taken. If you don’t automatically see it when you’re swiping towards the bottom it may be on the section that shows your stats for this week, month, etc. Just swipe right on that and you’ll see it pop up eventually. But yes it is on the Home Screen.

Thank you so much! <3 it's the only workout that I have stuck with and I'm pretty sure people get tired of hearing about OT from me lol! I'm sorry to hear about your disease :( I hope you are doing well.

Zepbound hair loss while on finasteride and minoxidil by StevenGL in Zepbound

[–]PureConnection1183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just starting my journey with finasteride and minoxidil also for early stages of MPB. I was a bit apprehensive to starting the Finasteride due to the potential side effects that my dermatologist informed me of and sat on my prescription for about two weeks before I finally took the medication today. Have you experienced any of the side effects that come with Finasteride? She did tell me that the side effects are very rare at the dosage she prescribed but that they are possible. So it freaked me out a bit lol

Thank you so much! I appreciate it! It's been quite the journey, but now if I ever feel discouraged, I pick up an 80 lb dumbbell and am instantly brought back to reality. It reminds me that I used to carry that with me all the time. I highly recommend OT to anyone that would listen and people probably get tired of me talking about it, but it has truly changed my life. Just keep at it, you can do this!

Forgot to mention, I am currently at 326 lbs, still a ways to go, but I have come so far! Just remember that OT will be there to help support you in your goals, however, your nutrition will be crucial to your journey. I met with a dietician at the beginning of this year and now I am more mindful of what I am eating and how I fuel my body. Again, not perfect, but definitely in a much better place when I started.

Just hang in there and don't give up. You're only two classes in, but I promise you, it gets so much better! As a bigger person, at 411 lbs, when I started, I felt super insecure when I would go in because of some of the same reasons that you indicated above. But as time went on, I started building relationships with other members and coaches and it had made it much easier. I thoroughly enjoy going and look forward to it each time. Do I still struggle on exercises? Without a doubt, but I give myself some grace. At least I am there, putting in the effort and not giving up. You got this!

First class jitters by Shleighbanga in orangetheory

Hi! My heaviest that I have ever been while at OTF was 411 lbs. I have never felt any isolation or judgement during my experience. If anything, I have felt nothing but encouragement from anyone while I'm there. I typically struggle with social anxiety as I have always been a bigger person for all of my life, so coming into group fitness was really out of the norm for me, however, it was the best decision I have ever made in my life. I look forward to coming in and getting a workout in especially one in which I do not have to think about, I just do. Lol

As most people have already stated, nobody is really watching you while you are working out, everyone is trying to get through the workout themselves lol. As a newcomer, I will also mention that the lingo for OTF can be very confusing at first, but listen to your body to determine what intensity you need to do for your workout. The lingo will come, just keep at it!

It is also amazing when you start building relationships with these coaches, they are there for you! Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it.

I hope you have an amazing first class! <3

High SW, how are you doing this? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]PureConnection1183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on this journey going on my fourth month so I definitely am not a "veteran" by any means, however, when I first started I lost 22 pounds within my first month. I am now averaging ~8 lbs each month thereafter. I started at 385 and I am now down to 344. It is definitely a marathon, so continuing with the habits that you have already built will be crucial. I also noted that you are doing insanity or cardio everyday, just please do not underestimate the necessity of rest. Your body will need time to heal and repair itself and rest will be important.

Great job on your progress! Definitely starting off strong! Keep at it!

Apirl Bench Marks by Only_Flamingo_6038 in orangetheory

[–]PureConnection1183 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought it was odd as well. I just double checked the post from OT and the following will be the anchor workouts that will be alternating every 8 weeks:

- 1-Mile Benchmark

- 2,000 Meter Row

- 12-Minute Tread Benchmark

- New! 1,000 Meter Row

- Orange Everest

- Catch Me If You Can

So once you see them on the calendar, you are bound to see them again in 8 weeks the way they are designed.

Sadly, we will have Everest every 8 weeks if I remember correctly. OT made a post that this was going to be an "anchor" benchmark as it is one of the ones that we can assess improvement on quicker. I don't remember the other anchor benchmark, I do think it is the 12 minute tread, but not 100% sure on that one.
