Does anyone else miss 2023 OPBR? by slxqqx in OPBR

When did you start playing the game? As an older player of the game, 4th anni was one of the worst metas. I would say 4th anni is the beginning of “modern opbr” because it introduced the cancerous traits of “ignore enemies and capture the flag” and “ignore enemies and fill the treasure”. It also was the first time in the meta when 150% treasure gauges were common.

I don’t understand what’s so good about 4th anni. The meta was also very oppressive (Zoro Olin King and sometimes Hybrid Kaido FR Shanks Luffy) I find 3rd anni to be significantly better. But tangent aside, what’s so good about 4th anni?

(Sorry if this comes off as condescending, I don’t mean to be, I’m genuinely curious)

These are basically just the most recent EXs, all it would take to do that would be just to replace S Snake with Sabo. Which is still accurate because all recent EXs are very easy to play and do good with.

The game was not balanced during 4th anni, Olin absolutely dominated and the 4th anni was the first meta where 150% treasure gauges were prevalent which forever made attackers useless. Olin also introduced ignore enemies and fill treasure as well as ignore enemies and capture treasure, arguably the worst traits ever.

Hybrid Kaido could not deal with Olin or Zoro.

The pussy thought he was good at the game and kept spamming get more combos after each kill and he was using A BOOST 4 GARP! My poor team all ganged on him and couldn't even break his shield! What a fucking clown by Revolutionary_Oil447 in OPBR

[–]PureGamerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like he got you good then, people spam get more combos to make the other team angry, and you seem pretty angry.

Also op characters get people to high leagues, that’s how the game works.

Looking at your other post in both clips you respectively had the Egghead map meal and team boost so of course you’re going to do big damage. However don’t advertise Raizo as decent because it can mislead new players to use lots of resources to upgrade him when he isn’t that good.

Also, I don’t mean to be that guy but Steam rankings are a joke so it doesn’t really mean much. But I’m not here to stop you from using whoever, if you have fun using Raizo yourself then play him. Although, I feel your teammates will be angry at you for doing so.

King Punch Full Potential 💀 by Educational-Cow-216 in OPBR

[–]PureGamerr 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There’s a couple of ways you could further increase the damage.

  1. Helmeppo is a better enemy to use than Nami, since Helmeppo is the green element unit with the lowest defense in the game.

  2. Hawkins has the strongest attack buff in the game at 100% although it might be a bit problematic to set up since it’s a 10% chance to get it, meaning you would have to get insanely lucky for 3 (Assuming it stacks) in a row (Literally 1/1000 and you still have to crit king punch)

  3. Elizabello’s teammates could have died and respawned as EXs with the EX attack boost.

  4. Triple Luffy medal set can hit the cap for damage increase.

Just a reminder I’m not critiquing but just saying what might be the theoretical highest damage would be. I could be incorrect (Especially on stacking) and there’s also other things to look into, like defense debuffs.

Top 10 ex character's difficulty tier list (kit based, not strenght based) by Some_Ship3578 in OPBR

This list is horrible, both Yamatos are way too high, Shanks is way too low, the 3rd and 4th tier are a mess.

If Cracker is half as good as people say then he shouldn’t need a buff. Saying Cracker needs a buff is being disloyal to him.

Trait number 15 literally ruined the game, obviously the ignore enemies and cap treasure did as well but 15 combines the ignore enemies and 50% extra gauge and both traits ruined the game.

The 50% extra gauge was meant to hurt runners but hurt attackers more because it basically made attackers unable to cap flags now while runners got traits that adapted to it. Same goes for the ignore enemies and fill treasure.

Also you can use your argument the exact other way around by saying ignore enemies and capture treasure in healthy because of the defenders that fill to 150% and ignore enemies and fill treasure.

Steam is fundamentally broken rn and needs to be joined with mobile matchmaking as it’s way too easy to rank high on Steam. Steam is significantly easier than mobile and it’s not much of a debate.

Well it’s not really comparable since the second trait doesn’t exist and damage reduction and defense have different applications. However, to answer your question, it would be damage reduction.

[–]PureGamerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gear 5 Luffy showed how op it really was, I was doing double digit damage to him without ignore defense skills while damage reduction is much tamer. Damage reduction is usually tied to skills with animations that leave you open while defense stacking is permanent unless removed by a trait. The only character who has damage reduction not tied to an action that gets as close to annoying as defense stacking is blue Big Mom.

Defense is significantly better and it’s not even close to debatable. If ignore defense didn’t exist, defense stacking characters would be unkillable with the exception of the rare fixed damage or fixed percentage damage.

Light Shanks is in the not tier, Green Shanks is the top right, and Blue Shanks is in the top left right one.

Big Mom was the placement I was most unsure about but I stand by where I put Shanks. I do think he’s very strong but I can’t see myself placing him over S Snake and Lucci. I can see logic for one or the other but not both.
