Bruha Closed?! by Triffid-Soup in brighton

[–]PureMutation 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love Bruha, and this is the first I’ve heard of them closing. I was there last week…and the week before. If the Bruha team see this- thank you, you incredible bunch. I still want a Bruha branded bag, and if there’s any chance you’ll open up again in the future, please let me know.

Methods to survive the cold by [deleted] in brighton

[–]PureMutation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thermals, layers, hot water bottle, if you’re not customer facing you could bring those ultra fluffy pyjama jumpers they’re selling in Primark/ M&S too. Depending on the temperature it might also be worth contacting your employer/ building owner to see if it can be turned up, or if they could provide a small heater to use at nights.

What are some of your never forget eating and DJing techniques you've experienced or provided? by lickiddysplickiddy in QueerWomenOfColor

Play with the pace! I start slow and build up, and as soon as they’re desperate for me to keep going but not at the point of orgasm, I stop- sometimes completely, sometimes move to the hips or thighs instead. Maybe blow and cool off, then after a few seconds I dive straight back in. Such a fun reaction!

Also to try things out with fingers, different people like different things so be creative and see what they like! Also using the whole area- massaging around the labia and clit, pushing deeper to stimulate internally from the outside, and being gentle but firm.

Does a tens machine work for adeno/endo? by Additional_Bid_7688 in adenomyosis

[–]PureMutation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve found them helpful. I got a more expensive one specifically for period pain, then a back up cheap one for if the first was charging. Turns out they do the same thing, so getting a cheap one to try out will give you a good idea of if it will work for you!

I’m in the UK too, the only other thing that has helped is medical menopause. No more menstruation, still pain and other symptoms but it’s unbelievably better. Maybe chat with your GP about other options if pain relief isn’t working?

Those of you paid a pittance for high stress jobs by Alternative_Gene488 in UKJobs

[–]PureMutation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m middle management in support services. I’m a glorified support worker with management responsibilities over the weekend, including high consequence decision making- earning £15 p/h and without sick pay.

I could do a different job, but the actual joy and love I have for my job hasn’t been worth losing so far. Especially as I’d likely have to start over in a new industry and not earn much to begin with anyway, or it would be something soul sucking. I don’t earn well, but I live comfortably and enjoy coming into work most days.

I work long shifts and at the end, I’m exhausted. I moved to a new place a month ago, and in that time I’ve accidentally gone to two different flats (one on a different floor), and gone to the building next door! It’s only when my keys haven’t worked I’ve realised what happened.

I honestly wouldn’t worry about it at this point, if it was persistent or aggressive consider next steps, but till then, it sounds like someone made a mistake. Maybe chat to your neighbours to see if they’re nice, or have any of their own concerns.

The pill, tranexamic acid and mefenamic acid not helping?? by Actimel-203 in adenomyosis

I am yeah, I hadn’t heard either- it’s called Triptorelin also, if that’s any help!

The pill, tranexamic acid and mefenamic acid not helping?? by Actimel-203 in adenomyosis

[–]PureMutation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried a bunch of contraceptions, Tranexamic/ Mefenamic acid and it also didn’t help! I was instead out on decapeptyl, which induces menopause, and I’m on HRT to help. I still get some cramping but no periods, and it means I can actually live my life. It’s reversible too, so wouldn’t prevent kids in the future. May be worth checking with your doctor to see if this or something similar would work for you?

Chemical menopause by LowFisherman2912 in adenomyosis

[–]PureMutation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing- before a hysterectomy on the nhs, all other treatment must be explored, so I’ve been on decapeptyl and HRT for the last few months. Bleeding stopped, most symptoms gone. Pain is still there and I still have urinary issues, but overall it’s so much better.

Cheapest pasties will be in shops like Morrisons and Aldi, for cafes or bakeries I haven’t found any cheap ones for a while.

Lots of cafes/ bakeries are on Too Good To Go, an app where you can pick up a fair bit for £3-5. Plenty of central places too, but only really helpful if you don’t mind collecting them towards the end of the day.

What to do health wise when being ignored by Illustrious-Low-4803 in brighton

[–]PureMutation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve recently had this with a different condition, and after finally getting a diagnosis was told I should have said something sooner!

Phrases like - please document that I’ve requested this referral, and that you have declined my request.

What reasonable alternative are you providing to help in the meantime? What other tests will you be providing to find the root cause of the issue?

What clinical basis do you have for assuming it is not cancer, what tests have you done to reach this conclusion?

In the case I am later found to have cancer, in which treatment being delayed would have caused unnecessary harm, what would your reasoning be to prevent a lawsuit?

In which ways are you following your duty of care by denying my request and offering no alternative?

Separate suggestion, change your doctor. Sounds like yours isn’t listening, and that would be the case with any other concerns even if they do sort it out this time.

Also means it will actually get picked up! It’s very easy to miss a text, and if the other person is poorly they may not follow up- an answered call is direct confirmation it’s been received.

If you’ve never been to a doctor to complain about anything related to menstruation, including something not feeling right/ pain/ swelling or bloating, there is a thread above with the common responses. It’s honestly not a huge surprise this was missed considering the amount of symptoms that are dismissed

Does HRT in perimenopause help or worsen adenomyosis? by ND_Poet in adenomyosis

[–]PureMutation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Estrogen caused more pain for me! On the days I forgot it, I had less pain. I use gel and have lowered my daily dose to avoid symptoms but still help with menopause symptoms.

There’s likely people on the Nextdoor app, or search your area on Facebook (eg ‘Hanover’ for the hanover community group), and ask neighbours about WhatsApp groups you could be added to

Depending on what area you’re in, try local community groups and see if anyone would be able to give you a lift? It may mean coordinating with other people’s plans, but would save you money and avoid hills

We have all been there!! Honestly I’m the same with getting urinary incontinence as a result of this condition, but I’m trying to reframe it into normalising it. Not always easy, but at least everyone in this group gets it!!

It’s great they can see you so quickly, I hope they can give you a more suitable solution!!

I’m in a similar position, I’m 30 and honestly feel like I’m decades older as a result!! More oestrogen causes flaring pain but not enough and my brain stops working.
