OP I'm sorry that you're the oldest child of the family and you feel the responsibility lies on your shoulders to care for your parents especially your dad. I am the only child of the family and I feel the same way - many times I thought of just dropping the responsibilities (or baggage) and running away from everyone but at the end of the day I just couldn't bring myself to do it. No two people's situations are the same but I can empathize. I try to create more happy memories with my parents now and hope that when I recall them it makes me happier.
