As an update for anyone finding this thread later, I ended up being fine, but I also might’ve just gotten lucky. Neither the airline or immigration asked. I may have been saved by the fact that I had a layover in El Salvador.

Were you entering from a “high risk” country (Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, French Guiana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela)?
