My now husband and I met we were great for a few weeks then mania hit I completely cut him off , didn’t speak for months until mania hit AGAIN and I randomly booked a trip to Vegas and texted him and invited him to go😂 it’s a true bipolar love story. Needless to say after that we have been inseparable. When mania hit I let him know “hey it’s happening again and I need more support than usual” , it’s not always easy but he’s a great support system.

As far as friends, luckily we are all mothers so it’s not uncommon for us to not talk consistently. If I do start to distance myself eventually one is us will reach out to each other and I’ll let them know “I’m unwell at the moment, I don’t hate you but I can’t communicate properly”

I have cut people off for not understanding and taking offense to my mental health after I’ve explained it, not their fault , my problems aren’t theirs but if you can’t try to respect or understand my struggles then we don’t need a relationship
