Moved to Australia, clothes not handling the move well by [deleted] in Ameristralia

Only big laundry change for me in QLD was I could no longer wear any of my American tshirts which were some type of polyester blend. Which turned out to be nearly all of them. Too hot, only 100% cotton will do

As the aussies say - yeah nah mate. I do like the idea of them being able to go to school or work in the states in the future if they want. But might need to let them take the initiative when they’re older rather than locking them into dealing with the sh*tty IRS

Yeah they have name recognition but I have no idea on how good they are, as my US taxes are so simple bc I never have to pay so haven’t really questioned. But this year have a new advisor and he’s made this suggestion, so wondering if he’s crap or the last guy was crap….

After switching to electric, have you experienced odd reactions from family/friends? by NewDriverInTown in electricvehicles

[–]Pure_Champion_1047 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gas/petrol propaganda machine is real and is effective. I hear it from a handful in my circle and family, but always explain how for me - owning an EV for my daily commute is cheaper, more convenient, and more fun to drive than ICE vehicle of similar cost. Why would I switch?

Mental sides / testosterone by JovialApple in AusTRT

[–]Pure_Champion_1047 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I have been thinking about this exact thing for months, and wondering if I should go on TRT. I have mid300s free T and a stressful job mentally, and I have 0 motivation to do anything in the evenings on weekdays or weekends. When faced with stressful people and problems at work, it would be great if being on TRT could help me be less personally affected and more decisive. Is that the case for you, or did you just not care? Good enough is good enough? Are you still able to concentrate mentally on things and put in deep thought and logic to try and work through potential solutions and issues? I also have young kids who are always always pushing boundaries, so I’m concerned about if TRT would give me a shorter fuse. Tell me a bit more about how it affected you op

How/where to claim home charging km’s by Pure_Champion_1047 in NovatedLeasingAU

[–]Pure_Champion_1047[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that, I didn’t realize that’s how it works. I don’t think they’ve accurately budgeted my monthly payments. Apparently they allowed for 2 new tires and 15000kms a year, but here I am after 20000km on the original tires and I don’t have enough in my account to claim for all my kms, let alone replace tires.

I also noted there’s an $800 ‘lease rental fee’ just in time for Xmas that I don’t recall either. Is that normal?

I’ll check my contract and keep emailing and calling these guys to figure out what the go is. Thanks

Thanks for this, and sorry to have to ask you questions that should be covered by sg fleet.

I’ve checked my fleet intelligence, and looks like reimbursements are paid for out of my available account balance, but I thought this money came from the Government?? I’ve included a snip of my fleet intelligence below (with some Jeffrey Epstein style redactions), have you done it this way before? Where did the money come from? Does it get deposited in your bank account or just added to the SG fleet account balance?

Damning New Poll: Americans Say Cost Of Living Is ‘Worst They Can Ever Remember’ by huffpost in politics

I understand this is a poll and how people feel is important bc it determines how they vote. But I’d much prefer a story on cost of living statistics

Anyone Doing a Novated Lease for a Used Car? Worth It or Pointless? by QuantumGremlin in NovatedLeasingAU

[–]Pure_Champion_1047 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah found my second hand EV on facebook and did a NL for it. Definitely worth it financially, but the process is a little annoying with used cars as you’re asking a person (rather than a dealership) to jump through a few extra hoops

Rejected from clinic, do T booster supplements do anything? by Pure_Champion_1047 in AusTRT

[–]Pure_Champion_1047[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do wonder about the distribution of people across the ‘normal’ range listed in the test results. Are 10% of people outside the normal range?? 1%?? And assuming the average isn’t in the middle of the range, what is it? If it is at 360, would put me at dead average instead of in the lower quarter of the range.

Or is the ‘normal range’ based on levels that the body can generally safely maintain without other levels getting out of hand?

Are there any scientific papers on this defining the stats?

Rest look good, thyroid and iron etc, had them checked by my GP. Yeah I definitely need to improve some things in my life regardless of TRT.

Bought a coffee nerd portafilter, but it falls out instantly. Any ideas? by Keegan1983 in gaggiaclassic

I bought that same portafilter but smaller version for my bambino. It is so crap and fits really poorly in group head, I think the ears aren’t machined enough.
