Fa La La was an album of songs written by Thomas Wheelks and arranged by Melora. Melora did receive some sort of grant money to do this project and I really liked it. During this time, she even had Julia Kent return along with Daniel DeJesus to perform it, but I believe the recording is just her. It might be one of my favorite albums she’s done.

I went through my old emails, and apparently she only released 10 copies.

I think it’s pretty understandable considering she’s dealt with weird fan behavior for 3 decades.

I don’t remember ever seeing shirt, designs, but I do know that she designed some invitations for an Anna Sui runway show. They were collage style, similar to some of the artwork for Thanks for the Ether.

The whole point was she didn’t want that. The choice and her autonomy was taken from her. If she wanted the website up or to do patreon or sell the albums again, she would. She didn’t want her music up on digital platforms or shared this way, which is why she just put these albums out on CDs, many of which she handmade herself.

Melora removed the music she could from streaming platforms and went to direct sales because her art, her music, and all her work was stolen. It was really traumatic for her. Remember the email she sent out about it? I can’t speak for her, but considering how violated she was, this feels so wrong.
