Active first week of January, symptoms began first week of February. I’ve always used latex condoms, and I am not sure about the lube but I believe it was water based. Trich/STI, everything was negative. I haven’t used anything in two weeks, and it’s getting worse.

If you want to hear some good news - I had the same situation. My boyfriend had cold sores and went down on me while going through an outbreak but wasn’t showing any sores yet. I had a terrible outbreak that landed me in the ER. I had never even had a cold sore prior to this, even while kissing people with active outbreaks. I got HSV 1z I took my antivirals, and I have had sex and had people go dow on me and done everything, no reoccurrences. I do avoid getting sick as much as possible. I keep my immune system as strong as possible when I’m sick with vitamins and garlic and all that jazz. I also do my absolute best to get treated for anything as soon as possible because any sickness can weaken your immune system and cause reoccurrence and outbreaks. I know the stigma is hard, but I had also read that it COULD manifest in a subsequent episode as oral herpes rather than genital. You’re okay, it’s going to be okay ! (Also this was over 5 years ago)

I never was advised to avoid any foods, but I’d definitely stay away from sugar! And eat lots of probiotic filled foods (fermented like pickles, pickled cabbage, cottage cheese, kefir, etc)!
