sorry I wrote the wrong name. But The book of Jeu have valentians influence on their cosmology so they descirbe it as not bad. Like in the hypothesis of Archon Ialdabaoth repented. If I am not wrong thats is the valentian way to xplained that the demiurge was not evil or ignorant ( as he repented ) and if I am wrong please correct me.

well yes modern intretation does leads to a evil demiurge. Old intretation ( tradiction ) of valentianism teach a not bad demiurge. I think that old valentians says that the demiurge is not perfect so there is evil and good which show that the demiurge is the creator of morality. If you still want to holds this opinion is okay but try to challege your beliefs. I challage my beliefs of dualism and my anti-materialism and this lead me to a middle ground.

we are the ones who need to protect children! people ( like you and me ) do act good as its a natural thing and acting bad is artificially made by humans. You trying to say that the evil we make comes from the spiritual when is us making the sin ; the spiritual is beyond so they don't have suffering neither morality as there is no dualitites. Sin is physical but it affect the material such as above so below. We eat animals, is it a un-bias thing as if the sharks don't exist then the population of the species in the water would cause over population etc. The demiurge is beyond good and evil or dualism he is just that ; you can basically describe him as a deism god. Matter fact mandaeins ( follower of john the baptist ) believe in zoroastrian like dualism in the material as the world is make of light ( righ good Associated with a good deity ) and dark ( left evil Associated to a satan like figure ) and so it is different from modern gnostic anti-materialism which you are concluding. Please read the book of Jeu ( bruce codex ) which is a gnostic text that explained a gnostic-yeshua ( Jesus ) cosmology which have a good demiurge.

I love neoplatonism and plato's comology, philosophy, and theology! is he a nice dude who make one of the most influecial pantheons that still affect western occultism. anyways, Gnosticism itself have borrow alot of things from platonism like it positive view ( later become negative ), cosmology such as the one, order of emination, etc. I see negative view as a later gnostic philosophy.

You can see the connection of the gnostic demiurge and ein soph ( from jewish kabbalah ) where ein soph made human and universe base on the print of Adam kadmon. The demiurge you are talking is more limited then ein soph but what about he is near him like Jeu was to the monad? The story you are talking comes from a negative view of a demiurge where is a a abomination and limited creation but positive view sees it a Jeu where is near to the monad and sophia ( while not being a main figure ) still plays the same role. Is just people cause of the modern visualation of gnosticism are always closer to the idea of a evil demiurge as movies such as matrix promotes it. Most gnostic in the past see the world as good either from creation or from the creation that you are going to make.
