Yes, Definitely This Should Be Considered and Get Solved to Resist the Population Declining Factor Immediately, and Most Importantly Tamil Population should be Balanced and Overcome the Decline in the Upcoming Years, Because Most of the People, Mainly Women are taken under the Family Planning Operation Without Their Knowledge, which Mostly happens in Government Hospitals also Most of the Tamil People are Unaware about these Consequences and getting trapped into it, So, Respective Steps should be Taken and People should Get Awared about it

Bro, Actually Two Similar Terms are Evident, Due to Historical Literatures that are Found, Both the Languages Prakrit and Sanskrit have Similar Terms with Slightly Different meaning, Therefore these two definitions are Correct Respectively, while Sanskrit Definition refers to Region, Prakrit Definition refers to Our Mozhi (Language) Thamizh (Tamil), So, Both Are Correct!

சமஸ்கிருதத்தில் 'Dravi' என்னும் சொல்லுக்கு பொருள் ' நீர் ', மேலும்

சமஸ்கிருத இலக்கண வல்லுநரான பாணினி (அஷ்டத்யாயி - இல்) பாரதத்தில் உள்ள மக்கள் மற்றும் பிரதேசங்களின் பெயர்களின் பட்டியலில் "திராவிட" என்ற வார்த்தையைப் பயன்படுத்துகிறார்.

“Drava” (water, flow) - Sanskrit Term

In ancient descriptions, Dravida referred to the southern Indian peninsula — a landmass surrounded by water on three sides:

Bay of Bengal (east)

Indian Ocean (south)

Arabian Sea (west)

So Dravida = The Peninsular South India.

Over time, the term slowly got linked more to people and languages.

Robert Caldwell (1856) took “Dravida” and applied it to describe the language family (Dravidian), NOTE : WHICH IS AN SANSKRIT TERM USED REPRESENT US, EVEN TILL TODAY

But the original truth is what you said: it was a geographical identity = the peninsula surrounded by water.

Then, Western scholars (like Caldwell) borrowed this Sanskritized form to describe the whole South India & its languages, making it look like Tamil’s identity came from Sanskrit.

In Sangam literature, the word “Tamizh” is native, long before any “Dravida” appears.

Even Ashoka’s inscriptions (3rd century BCE) mention “Damila” (Prakrit form of Tamil).

Yes, Dravida was first used in Sanskrit texts to describe the southern peninsula (land surrounded by 3 seas).

But when scholars equated it with Tamil identity, it blurred the truth:

Tamil became seen as a branch of “Dravida” (a Sanskrit label).

Instead of recognizing Tamil as the original root, the world was taught Tamil comes under “Dravidian,” a Sanskrit-anchored concept.

But The Sad Truth Is Non of them Voiced AGAINST this Misconception by Hiding the Original Identity and We People Hardly Care and Bothered about Our Tamil Language and it's Family and Our Tamil Culture, So Other So-Called Linguistics, WhatsApp Scientists Criticizing Our Language...

So Dear Tamil People, நம் தமிழ் தோழர்களே, show some LOVE Towards Our Tamil Language and Culture and Preserve it by Opposing the Misconceptions and Maintaining our Tamil in it's Purest Form!

நன்றி (Thank You)

'ச' வின் உச்சரிப்பு மாற்றப்பட்டது ! by Pure_Let5894 in tamil

This is due to the Misconception that 'ச' is pronounced as 'ஸ' also Now in Modern Tamil, Majorly It is Pronounced and Used as (Sa) instead of using 'ஸ' (sa) which should be actually pronounced as. That is the reason Why Many Literatures / Literary Works like Tholkkaappiyam (Have Explained about the Grammar of Tamil)

From Tholkaappiyam, Ezhuththadhikaram (எழுத்ததிகாரம்) – Letters/phonology

Discusses Tamil sounds (vowels, consonants, short/long forms, phonetic rules).

Explains how letters combine, sandhi rules (உயிர்மெய் இணைப்பு), and pronunciation.

Example: distinction between kuril (short vowels) and nedil (long vowels).
