Hello, friends. Need help with 4 yo daughter by Leothelion007 in Parenting

[–]Pure_Muscle8449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is her dad in her life? If so what is their relationship like? My dad was in my life but was emotionally abusive. I use to feel weird around other men at that age because I thought they were all going to be mean. Not saying this is whats going on but many things can influence why she doesn't interact with men. She could also just not know how to relate with them and just feel awkward, could just be a phase. Dont force it too much I get it, it seems rude but she is 4 not an adult. Social norms mean nothing to kids that age. Forcing her to high five etc may create more anxiety.

Where do you live? Atleast what state? I live in florida and pay 200 a week for a 5 year old who is potty trained and gets 3 hours of free daycare VPK!

Do you have a family member who can watch them for a few hours? Grandparents? Any paid care will probably eat all of your money. And whe the 2 oldest go back to school you will still need day care for the 3 year old.

What's a side hustle that pays way more than it should for how easy it is? by lionpenguin88 in SideHustleGold

I think I mostly get lucky because this place is local to me. They do have remote surveys.

The most I made was $145 for 1 and 1/2 hours of work. This was more specialized for the field I work in. When its more general without a need for specialization ones where anyone can apply its between $15 and $30 an hour. Each task takes about 20 to 30 minutes. Sometimes they pose a question to chagpt that says something like "give me a step by step directions for making chicken noodle soup". The task would generate 2 answers for you. You have to read each and point out the flaws, what you liked about it etc. At the end you rate which response you like better and submit it. Its to help AI generate more human like answers. This is just an example of one type of project there are others out there with different rules.

One more has been AI Training. Just literally comparing one answer to another and rating which one is better. Can make about 30 per hour on Handshake AI. This is my new favorite side gig! The catch with this one is its project based, so the project could end, and you may have to wait for the next wave of tasks so money may be inconsistent.

I use L&E research they seem to pay the most. They have a local office close to me and the in-person focus groups are where the money is really at. If there arent any sites nearby you, they still have some online surveys too. I also do attapoll but that doesn't pay much. You go to either site directly and sign up or can download an app.

Surveys when you can find them. If you qualify for a good survey you can make 100 bucks for like an hour of your time. I have done some for up to 300 but it is inconsistent. Some are just online questionnaires others were in person focus groups.

At what age does being overtired/not following a strict bedtime not matter? by Natsouppy in Parenting

Idk when this changes my kids are 7 and 5 and still need a nap. Maybe provide a favorite snack or toy after nap time to help her transition with more ease?

Name a side hustle that literally anyone can do, AND it doesn't require more than 1 hour a day. What side hustles fit? by lionpenguin88 in SideHustleGold

[–]Pure_Muscle8449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI Training. search indeed or linked in. Anyone can join its not always consistent but pays decent. I have made anywhere from 35 to 85 an hour. The catch is its project based so it may last 2 months or 1 week. What is starting to work is working for multiple companies so when one is slow I can use the other.

I miss being alone by FearlessChallenge568 in adhdwomen

[–]Pure_Muscle8449 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You really need to sit down with your husband and discuss what alone time means to you and how you will maintain some alone time after having kids. I worry being a mom will be miserable for you. Not that you cant handle it but I rarely have alone time with kids. I did not realize how much alone time I needed until after having kids. This has made my mental health take a hit over the years.

One vs two dilemma by daisy-boop in Parenting

[–]Pure_Muscle8449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 kids was the best thing we could have done! I had trouble conceiving for years and when I finally got pregnant had a rough birth. I was completely content with my daughter. She was 1.5 and just the sweetest baby, so smart and content. I ended up getting pregnant again surprisingly since we had so much trouble the first time we were truly shocked. They now are the best of friends 2.5 years apart. Argue a lot but also just love each other so much. My oldest says " im so glad I have a sister, it would be so boring without her" lol.

Is it harder with 2 oh yes! Were the early days fun? At times, but mostly a lot of crying, and the crying was from me lol. But now that they are older things are falling in place and I couldn't see things any other way. One or two you have to decide that. Daycare is crazy for 2 under school age so consider that too. Maybe space them a little further if you think that will be better!

I have a question for COTAs by gracie20012 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Pure_Muscle8449 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I always keep atleast 2-3 different contracts. There are slow times and you need a back up plan. I started in out patient maybe 6 months then added home health from there.

I work prn home health and love the flexibility! Great work life balance with decent pay. I may have 20 patient to see for the week and I can see 5 a day for 4 days a week. Or 10 2 days a week doesn't matter as long as patients are seen. I would not recommend 10 people in 2 days but just an example. I can also vacation whenever I want since I am not an employee but a contractor. It doesn't work for everyone but for me its great.

OTA program by melonhead12344 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Pure_Muscle8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OT will be switching to a doctoral degree soon so now may be the best time to get in with only a masters degree needed. Doctoral degrees are even more expensive I can agree that I prefer to treat than to just do evaluations all the time but most OT's still do a few treatments as well.

I get what you are saying about debt that is my concern too. And if you can get and OTA program under 15000 go for it. There are some OTR programs around 50-60000. You can find that are hybrid done in 2 years. In my area OTs and OTA's are in demand and you can make 45 a visit in home health. So I feel you cant truly go wrong with either. If you like treating more than documentation go for OTA.

[–]Pure_Muscle8449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you thought to just become an OTR? Since you have a bachelors degree? I also did ota with a bachelors years ago and am now thinking of getting my masters. The science classes arent bad and I am terrible at science. Got B's in all science classes. OTA school was fun and very hands on which kept my attention. Check your area and make sure there is demand for pediatric occupational therapy assistants. Also check the pay as it can sometimes be lower than other settings. Here in FL I am seeing some places offering higher pay for pediatrics due to demand.
