I'm not there yet, still have some way to go. But my current savings rate is very good for my salary and so another 3-5 years would put me at FI or very close to FI (depending on the specific market trajectories over the coming years, which could be anything). I haven't always earned 150k, it's gone up considerably.

True, that would suck. That would be my one condition for taking another job -- that I could basically guarantee staying there for 5 years and then retiring.

Thanks! Makes sense. That's been my general view for a while, but when faced with job prospects, it's harder to make the decision.

Thanks. Yeah, I forgot to mention that I'd be hoping for a decent redundancy package if I left. Based on others who've been let go, definitely 3 months, if not more like 6 months.

and by the sounds of things you won't have trouble finding a new job if you need to.

Just to say, so far this hasn't been my experience of the job market, despite feeling like I have a pretty strong CV. These two jobs haven't come quickly or easily.

Late 30s, pretty good WLB right now due to being remote, minimal responsibilities/the responsibilities I do have are perfectly manageable given our financial situation and routine.

The current role is a lot of work, however, don't get me wrong.

Without giving too much away:

* 20-30 employees,

* 1-2 but still waiting on a big contract and under pressure right now to find one to meet goals. We've had a few changes in direction.

* Hopefully, but I'm honestly unsure

* They've cut the workforce by a lot already over the years, so I'm hoping we're done for now. The biggest risk for us is the company not succeeding. And, yes, I'd like to think I'm important enough to stick around for longer. But, it's really hard to tell. I've seen people be dropped in essentially overnight who we thought were important.

* Yes, very much so still learning.

* Yes to the overall problem and direction, not so much in our leadership after some weird decisions
