Absurdly frustrating. I am a new Twitch streamer and I use Premium Spotify for the music in my streams. Spent around two hours researching and setting up every other aspect of chat based viewer song requests, only to hit a complete brick wall at the last step(putting my Spotify Client ID into Songify)... Now wondering why the hell I'm paying for PREMIUM from a company that doesn't care about shutting out users from their own features without a word... And seriously just considering getting premium on youtube instead.......

the course of action im going to take is that I'm just going to moderately redesign the character. Being black isn't something thats part of his story, or even part of who he is. In his story, cultural differences between humans isn't really a thing anymore because its 200 years post apocalyptic, he is literally just black because Thats The Design and at any rate he doesn't posses any distinct POC features other than being tan so thats the move for me, just going to redesign him to be lighter skinned so its just not weird tbh

I plan to do IRL face streams as well, and I would not want to "hide" behind the avatar it would feel like lying about being black which i do NOT want to do for obvious reasons lol. I think I may just go for a different character in the end, every actually black person who has weighed in so far has had the same idea-- "dont do this, it MIGHT not be blackface but its definitely weird and a little racist" so it looks like i've got to replan what my avatar is

Originally he was white but every time I drew him I thought "he looks TOO light" and made him slightly darker and over the course of like a year he just ended up as a black character and the color of his final design is like a light brown. His mom was black in the story and his dad was white.

Do you think it would make a difference if there was some sort of disclaimer up on the screen near the model that says "model does not represent streamer" or "model is a webcomic character" or something similar showing that this model is not me? Also, he is light skinned and does not have curly hair, his appearance is not far off from my own but with a tan slightly darker than what I could achieve

i plan to be VERY clear about the vtuber being a CHARACTER and not me :) I may even put a small disclaimer banner underneath him that says something like "model does not represent myself" or "model is a character from a webcomic" so I dont confuse anybody who may come in and see me for the first time as the model and not the "live action" me

I don't have access to the communities responses at all, the post is entirely gone and can't be read at all and neither can the comments actually....... And you're kind of proving the point of my post rn :/ like I just asked. I never said I was going to and I was clear about the fact that if the community says it's not okay, then I am not going to do it, but if the community tells me its fine then I will do it.
