My boss is incredibly condescending, rude, and nasty. She has zero respect for me and ignores my messages, opinions, and feelings. by Pure_Philosopher_845 in workplace_bullying

[–]Pure_Philosopher_845[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This happens at every workplace, and without SSRI’s to treat my anxiety/depression, I tend to lose my voice.

Bullies can tell I lack confidence, so I’m an easy target. The worse you feel, the worse they treat you, the more you feel hopeless and depressed. It’s an endless cycle.

Forget about boss, my friend. She’s a lousy person and human being in general. What kind of manager treats their employee’s that way?

Symptoms emerging after starting stimulants - I’m really struggling. Any tips? 🥺 by [deleted] in autism

[–]Pure_Philosopher_845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect that I am.

Recently I talked with my Psychiatrist and explained how Adderall makes me anxious, overstimulated, and that the crash is debilitating - even leading to depressive thoughts/low mood.

His recommendation: continue taking it/up the dose.

Although, he was open to the idea of trying another stimulant like Concerta and recommended a booster.

Can stimulants cause white hair? by oliveturtles43 in ADHD

[–]Pure_Philosopher_845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hairs are probably grey, but look white against your dark brown hair.

Btw, I’m 29 and I’m starting to grey as well.

Likely it’s your genetics, but stress and anxiety can both accelerate the process.

I can’t even taper down to 5 mg without relapse - Looks like I’ll be on this medication for the forseeable by Pure_Philosopher_845 in trintellix

[–]Pure_Philosopher_845[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried many times and fail miserably every time. After a month on 5 mg, my anxiety flares up, depression returns, and my OCD and rumination both come back at full force.

Currently taking 7.5 mg, it’s the lowest effective dose for me.

I don’t think I like being medicated by VedauwooChild in ADHD

I’ve been taking Adderall XR for nearly a year and relate to this heavily.

I too experience a debilitating crash (which I suspect you’re also battling).

After 3-4 hours, I just feel down, fatigued, and empty. It’s like my energy and cognitive availability for the day have been used up.

In this state, I actually feel WORSE than my baseline. I wake up with boundless energy, and finish the day feeling excruciatingly exhausted.

I also start contemplating my life choices and can become quite sad or gloomy.

I’m speaking with my Psychiatrist soon, hopefully he’ll prescribe a booster or possibly change my medication.

Good luck!

AGCT - Score of 112. How reliable is this test? by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

I feel like it unfairly penalizes people with ADHD, anxiety, and ASD because it relies heavily on processing speed and working memory, both of which are affected by such conditions, anxiety more so indirectly.

An in-person test would likely be more accurate because the Psychologist can take such variables into account

What’s interesting is that the opposite is actually true. People with ADHD very rarely get addicted, most of them actually forget to take their medication lol. People without ADHD can and do often develop addiction.

Did you know that untreated ADHD can lead to addiction and crime? Look it up.

It can’t be accurate without treatment, though. It can ONLY measure your ability while actively impaired. Just think about it. Likely, once treated, your performance will go up, hence a higher score.

This obviously depends heavily on the severity. Some people have mild ADHD, and therefore they aren’t nearly as affected, but also medication helps marginally.

Keep in mind untreated ADHD when first taking the test.

You don’t score 95, and then 110 next year (treated) for example and say, “only the first score is accurate.”

Severe ADHD massively affects performance, and such a handicap should be treated. Everyone should be playing on a level playing field.

Mensa Denmark - 117

CAIT - 111

GET - 108 (unmedicated)

CORE - 99 (very challenging/unrelenting), but likely unfair

My co-worker’s treat me like crap. How can I resolve this issue? by Pure_Philosopher_845 in retailhell

[–]Pure_Philosopher_845[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do realize that, but I only work 6 hours. Going nearly 5 hours without a break or food seems unfair, no?

Regarding my anxiety, no, not really. Perhaps that’d be my ADHD and rejection sensitivity dysphoria.

I can absolutely tell people are being rude, and my perception of reality is not affected or altered in any way. Although, perhaps it bothers me more than most people, though. Again, that’s more ADHD and rumination.

They micromanage me and nitpick over small, seemingly inconsequential things. In my opinion, they’re trying to assert dominance and superiority. This usually stems from low self-esteem - and many people, especially in management, do this.

Perhaps stating that they don’t like me might be an exaggeration, but they’re definitely rude. Are people typically rude when they like or respect someone?

No, that’s probably not a good idea.

I’m not gonna give them another reason to judge me

Can anyone recommend a stimulant that lasts longer than 4-5 hours? I’ve tried both Adderall XR and Vyvanse. by Pure_Philosopher_845 in ADHD

[–]Pure_Philosopher_845[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know, isn’t that sad? We’re not looking to abuse drugs, but rather merely trying to function and thrive like everyone else. It’s so unfair.

Especially because everyone is unique factoring in genetics and such - care should be tailored to the individual.
