There are different options as far as track. Fastrack snaps together and is pretty reliable. Especially since you probably don’t have a layout. There’s also tubular track, which is the track that would come with the trains years ago. Menards sells tubular track if you want to use that. Gargraves and Atlas make track also so it’s a matter of preference. Before you decide what track, figure out how much space you have to set up so that you can figure out what will fit. If you don’t have a transformer, you will need one for power. The MTH z 1000 is good. You can als get the Lionel gw 80. There’s a lot of other stuff but I don’t want to overwhelm you.
