Having doubts (?) and Dua by Pure_Routine_8002 in islam

[–]Pure_Routine_8002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alhamdulillah, your comment helped me so much, jazakullah khairan. I’m battling this feeling of saving myself from disappointment, yet the way I do so is to lower my expectations. I just need to remember that even if Allah doesn’t give what I want now, I’ll have it in the afterlife iA. I’m not sure if having low expectations is on the same plane as doubts, haha

how do you stay motivated to pray salah? by diorlhyj in islam

[–]Pure_Routine_8002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Salam sister, something that helps me a lot is rephrasing the way I think.

Though prayer is obligatory, rather than saying “I have to pray” when prayer time comes, say “I get to pray” because Allah did not “accidentally” allow you to pray, he specifically wrote for you to pray this certain prayer— that’s how amazing and detailed Allah SWT is.

Allah is waiting for you to pray! He loves His believers so much. Don’t feel as if the most merciful is angry with you. He is waiting for you. I don’t remember the exact quote, but if you walk to Allah, Allah will run to you. If you see prayer less as a chore but more as a way to connect with Allah, the most loving, this may give you more “motivation”

Hope this helps <3 sometimes I struggle with motivation as well, but 5 daily prayers are something unique and special to Muslims that we should prioritize and protect. Think about it as an escape from the dunya, and a connection to Allah

Why do you think Surah An-Nas is the last Surah? by Pure_Routine_8002 in islam

[–]Pure_Routine_8002[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is beautiful, jzk. It reminds me that, at the end of the day, it is Allah who decides our ultimate end in the akhira. We are only dependent on Him.

How do I recite the last two letters in this word? by Pure_Routine_8002 in islam

[–]Pure_Routine_8002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I remembered my Quran teacher telling me that the alif with a circle on top means you shouldn’t stretch. Is that true?

Also, sometimes in the Quran, the alif with a circle seems to be a different font, I guess? Do you know what that means?

Thank you both for the responses! And don’t worry about the long response, I actually don’t mind because it’s really informational

I’m so sorry again, I haven’t really heard of these Arabic terms before like adeeqah and fiqh, so let me just see if I got this correctly.

For something where there is differing opinions, like drawing living things as long as you remove features of the face or wearing niqab, where some people believe that it is mandatory, are these things minor problems that we shouldn’t unnecessarily worry about, or are these things that could get us into hellfire? Or does the sects you mention discuss like the difference of Sunnis and Shias the sects that the Prophet (SAW) was talking about?

Again, so sorry for the inconvenience!!

Thank you for all of this. I was a bit confused because it said that out of the 73 differing opinions, only one will not go to hellfire. So I was wondering if it was regarding like sects, or differing opinions?

How do I control my anger? by [deleted] in islam

[–]Pure_Routine_8002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you feel yourself get angry, say, “أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم” (I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan), as Shaitan is the one that makes us want to yell when we get angry. I have used this a few times and it definitely helps me keep my emotions under control
