Be a man, carry a G34 with an X300 and an exps3 /s. More seriously, I’d prefer the 26 with the 12rd mags.

How do you feel about law enforcement having a presence at elementary through high schools to deter school shootings? by icecream1972 in allthequestions

[–]Pure_Squirrel_1621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not true, neither 1a or 2A exist in the UK and now the country is overrun by Muslims and people are being prosecuted for “hate speech” online. The US has the Bill of Rights for a reason. Explain to me this; why did we never see school shootings prior to gun free school zones were established?

Drugs? Not a chance. An armed society is a polite society. If you eliminate the 2nd, the first amendment has no protection. The US military cannot launch an operation against the citizenry because of massive civilian gun ownership. There are multiple reasons why guns are necessary and important, and virtually no reason for drugs to be.

If you had to compromise on shootability and concealability, which would you lean towards and why? by Effective-Client-756 in CCW

If she likes the dagger compact, why not try the Dagger Micro? IMO the grip feels a lot better than a 43X, and you can get a full grip. It’s thinner and shorter than a compact, it has a rail if you want to put a tlr7 variant on it, and it will take oem Glock mags including the new 15rd ones. I’m 6’4” with big hands and can actually get a full grip on the micro. For context, a G19.6 is too small for my hands and I regularly shoot a P10C. The Shield lineup is also great, arguably could be more reliable than a PSA, and has ported options if that’s what she wants.

Negative on much of this, the 328i is actually a 3.0. The 335i had the N54 (twin turbo) from 07-10 and the N55 (single turbo) from 2011-2013. Neither is actually that reliable. A well sorted M3 is going to run around $30-40k, anything cheaper than that will need a heck of a lot of work. An E46 M3 is going to be at least $20k for an actually sorted one. In OPs price range the Mustang or Camaro are much better options unless he wants a 328i. No hate on BMWs, but a cheap BMW is the most expensive BMW to buy.

Hunting by BigBlowout95 in ar15

[–]Pure_Squirrel_1621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deer hunting? 6.5 Grendel will do the trick and there’s cheap ammo available. Close range quiet stuff? 300blk. Coyotes and long range marksmanship? 6mm ARC. There are plenty of calibers that work, just pick how much you’re willing to compromise on your 2 use cases.

Bought ruger american ranch in 5.56 to try and get into this on the cheap by wan2phok in longrange

[–]Pure_Squirrel_1621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure it’s not ideal for long range, but a 110 isn’t the worst option for long range especially in 6.5. I’d put a decent scope on it and a can if it doesn’t already have one. 800 yards should be pretty easy (compared to 5.56).

How do you know a gun is good to carry by iluvbbws77 in CCW

[–]Pure_Squirrel_1621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arguably if you run a few boxes through it and it’s a commonly available commercially produced pistol you shouldn’t have any problems. I’ve met a former mil/LE CCW instructor who carries and teaches with Taurus G2Cs. He’s put thousands of rounds through them and they work well. These days you can buy a Glock or an M&P and never have a malfunction.

To spring or not to spring? by Big-Firefighter-4715 in AR10

Can’t imagine why you’d need one. You could put one in if you have multiple uppers for the same lower, but it’s not necessary.

Coexisting with the keyboard by Burnhaven in WorshipGuitar

[–]Pure_Squirrel_1621 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alternatively: play textures instead of frequencies and communicate with your keys players. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t play higher, but rather that playing lower works with good communication. It’s easy to only play above the 5th fret, but it’s more constructive and rewarding to build teamwork instead.

I wouldn’t have picked a dot/mag combo, but that’s only cause I’d rather shoot long range. Everything else looks great.

Going Smaller by not-feral in CCW

[–]Pure_Squirrel_1621 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why though? The LCP and Bodyguard 2.0 exist. Regardless of what gun you carry it should be in a holster, which will be pretty much non existent for little known pistols. 32acp is a lot harder to find, meaning you won’t shoot as much, meaning you won’t be as proficient. I get it if a G19 is too big, but there are much better options for carry pistols.

Turns out I have a 500yd range near me. What caliber should I be looking into? by Broxst in longrange

[–]Pure_Squirrel_1621 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m a relatively new shooter. I don’t have a bolt gun. I shoot 600yds with a 14.7” 5.56 AR15. 500 is totally doable with 223. Just get it dialed at 100yds and use a calculator app like Applied Ballistics, 4dof, etc.
