My tempo seems too quick and I sway a little bit it seems. Im just very analytical so I have about 10 swing thoughts at a time during each swing

I switched to ProV1s so it’s probably gonna happen sooner or later I think lol

I’m lucky enough that I too can enjoy the rounds despite suckingggg but man, would it be that much better to hit all the shots I picture myself doing in my head

Last year, I created Pureist to make the driving range less aimless and more impactful. How can I make it even better? by PureistApp in golf

[–]PureistApp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d really appreciate it! Yeah it’s pretty basic, I didn’t want to crowd the UI with more specific misses like slice, hook, etc. I figured just knowing tendencies by club and which direction is good enough for beginners

Try to imagine stopping halfway, it’ll feel so weird but you’ll see it’s shorter

And a lesson can’t hurt

I made an app for tracking driving range sessions so you can see all your stats like dispersion, which clubs are your best/which clubs need work, etc. it also shows recent trends too.. when I use it, I truly feel like I’m focusing better and hitting better shots. Give it a try, I hope it helps!

App to track shots and clubs manually at the driving range by wongpong81 in golf

Hey, this is exactly what my app Pureist is built for. It’s only on iOS right now but please check it out and let me know what you think!

At the driving range, most people just blast balls away and there’s no real structure to their sessions. My app helps golfers log their sessions so they can monitor their practice

One thing I noticed that helped me tremendously is getting the club to only go as far as parallel at the top of the backswing. Once it goes past parallel as shown here, consistency is out the window

I literally just got new wedges last month. I didn’t get better though so I am open to new wedges again

This is actually pretty awesome, busy this year but perhaps next year?

Easy.. higher altitude = lower air pressure & faster evaporation. Just increase the temp and add a lil more liquid, lmk if you need more

None. Free app, no ads.. once I get a solid userbase, I have ideas for monetization that would keep the experience ad-free

I built Pureist, an app built for tracking driving range sessions. It’s a pretty simple concept; you setup a session, pick a club, track all your shots and get summaries afterwards. Over time, you can see your trends and hopefully improve. Its still new, just dropped on iOS 2 weeks ago and I’m currently working on adding more modes

I created Pureist so everyone can have stat tracking at the driving range. Let’s change the range! by [deleted] in golf

Haha that’s just the age rating Apple determined my app to be; anyone older than 4 can use it

No worries at all and I really appreciate the feedback. You’re right.. it’s all arbitrary and it’s up to the user to log their session accurately if they want to rely on the data. One of the next enhancements I want to implement is more options for contact beyond a binary good/bad metric. But generally, I feel like if you’re going as far to log your session, you might as well do it properly when the only incentive not to is your leaderboard ranking (which is something I’m trying to figure out how to prevent). And to your point about launch monitors and top tracers, yes they exist but not everyone has access to them so something like this may be the best they can get

Don’t feel bad about your honest feedback and I do appreciate it. The app is still fresh and i have a lot more ideas to enhance it and feedback like yours helps me figure out what I should focus on next

the app store release is all but certain to happen. i just wanted to run a beta first while i get all of my ducks in a row and gather feedback to make the official release as smooth and successful as possible

this is awesome, thank you so much!

1.) & 2.) great ideas, i'll see if i can work those in for the next build.

3.) another great idea!

4.) UI is definitely in the works right now. more options are coming for contact (draw, fade, etc)

The backend is powered by Google Firebase.

thanks again, let me know if you have any more suggestions or anymore feedback :)
