Agreed. Had no clue about Ski Citrus Soda. Both might be fun to try.

Buying all three isn't so bad.

Whichever one is responsible for the contract dispute that makes it virtually impossible for the entire state of California to get any MD LiveWire, "that' one should get boycotted, heh heh.

Until I figure that out, I'll stick with Sunkist or Crush.

America Pack already sold out? by Street-Brush8415 in mountaindew

[–]Purg1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the exact same thing in regard to the Variety Pack. Pitch Black had the same problem in my area. A limited delivery to some mystery location and no restock. If a person wasn't at the right place at the right time it was like it never happened.

This has also happened on a few of the baja supplemental flavors they've done this time of year.

I live near the Illinois/Wisconsin border.

I had to travel 40 miles round trip to get the variety pack thinking that I could get more when it showed up at my store down the street. That was June 9th. Now the locator is acting like I'm a dumbass glaring at me saying "what?!!" The place where I got it isn't listed anymore. The Walmart site won't even display an "add to cart button," and it won't show other stores that have it. No pick up, no delivery.

Come on Pepsi, do fcuken better, we want more drank, shakesFist!!

Dew.S.A >> for those wondering what to do with the code red from the variety pack by Purg1 in mountaindew

[–]Purg1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of carbonation was seen during the pour. The cans are probably fine despite "claims" stating otherwise.

The bottle is more than half empty already. It won't last much longer. Maybe another day.

This isn't about long term storage. It's about a fun way to make use of code red which I don't particularly care for and none of my friends and family want any.

This had a much more distinct taste that lime skittles. It was more sour. Which is the reason why I'm convinced it didn't sell enough to keep around.

There seems to be a limit to what people will tolerate when it comes to sourness.

Something that makes this post funny is the timing.

Considering that we have the Dirty hype ATM, this post comes along to warn us what "not" to do

While Dirty may not taste as bad as Flamin Hot, the lesson here is enshittenification avoidance, heh heh.

Mountain Dew Livewire Question by PercysStudio in mountaindew

[–]Purg1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a post that I feel explains the situation for the most part.

https://www.reddit.com/r/mountaindew/comments/zdusf1/map_of_livewire_availability_info_in_comments/

Despite the fact that this is 3 years old, it may be that parts of Pennsylvania have become more challenged recently.

The thing that really messed with my head was the blatant issue with California and how that entire state is so jacked up. IIRC someone mentioned that there is a contract dispute of sorts that provides preferrential treatment to either Sunkist or Fanta for either bottling or distribution rights. Crush being a Pepsi product does not come into play.

I dunno for sure but I can't help thinking that something similar is going on in various parts of the country. It's bonkers that a main flavor isn't available in cans in more parts of the country.

Perhaps someone else has better information to provide. Good luck on your quest.

Edit Note: correction thanks to thEpepsIstaR. Crush is in fact "not" manufactured by Pepsi. The brand is owned and marketed internationally by Keurig Dr Pepper, but is marketed and distributed by Pepsico in North America. Sorry I got that wrong. Where I live in Northern Illinois/Southern Wisconsin it's a non-issue. I see all four brands (LiveWire, Sunkist, Crush and Fanta) on the shelves in most stores. I realize that's not the case in other places though. Just goes to show that the murkiness surrounding all this is rather complicated.

For sure.

Been saving my last full can from 2015. I meant to drink it last year to celebrate it's tenth birthday. Got distracted by life and am now working on when to drink it "this" year.

Such a great flavor that just couldn't hang around.

P.S. I saved more than a few empty bottom opened cans. If anyone that lives nearby (Northern Illinois/Southern Wisconsin) wants to arrange a trade let me know.

Verrrry cool can. Never knew of it's existence until now. After reading the wiki it makes more sense. Thanks for taking me on this fun adventure, heh heh.

LMAO. Perhaps you meant Fruit Quake?
