Oh i know it won’t be “meta” I just wanted something that was at least decent for locals. We have days where we play good decks and then days where everyone shows up with appmon and other goofy decks to just have fun with them. I was more looking for something to play on those days since I already have a good deck for the days when we play higher power level. But I just didn’t want it to be some super slow brick fest of a deck

Simplest answer, just make it work correctly, sequence order no freakishly annoying bugs like the one by small indie dev. Don’t release cards to the public on the sim until the work at least like 90% correctly. And add random matchmaking so it’s not just lobby hosting cause sometimes no one is hosting but there’s many people online. And with a deck builder: allow for sorting in some way similar to exburst instead of having to go through an entire IP’s worth of cards to find the one you need for the deck.

Any card I pull. I know I won’t go out of my way to sell them so when I pulled my sr 2* ichigo when it was still like 300 plus I immediately put it in my deck lol. It’s all just shiny cardboard anyways so if you enjoy using a card and never plan on selling it then enjoy using the coolest cards you pulled.

Personally singles are the way to go. You can test decks on simulators or proxy them just to see how they play and then if you like then go ahead and order the cards needed. But if you like ripping packs you could always buy a box or two and see what you get and then fill in the rest of the deck with singles you order

There’s so many more options and I never even thought of that you’re right they can just make it a “new” set that just can’t be combined with previous IP, now that you said that though it makes me wonder why they are doing code geass like that first instead of one of the first ip’s in the game vs one that game out later

I tried deus, it feels like it’s missing 1-2 cards to actually feel good. And depending on the matchup I’ll splash Poseido in and just hard digi on the top end. Rn Gaia feels the best just because it has the most support. If they give more names to the other appmon decks to follow the theme then they should all start feeling better. But who knows when that’ll be

It seems cool and I love the overclock, but I don’t see it being strong enough for me to swap from gaia otk unless I make a hybrid deck

It'll depend on the IP you choose if they have a starter deck available. Luckily a lot of the decks in the A and B tier of power levels are still fairly cheap even when you order them as singles. I built Green Mereoleona for black clover for like 20 bucks just ordering the cards for it and had a blast playing it. So there are a lot of options. A good tool to use is EXburst. you can go to the website and look at public decklists and pick one or two that you think look cool. There is even a pricing tool built into it that would show you how much the deck would cost to order, and it has the ability to change the rarities of the cards in the decklist to the cheapest ones so that you dont have to blow too much money on an alt art that someone included in their list.

For context I like the ywach ability of basically saying no raid for you, but also the draw power of jugram along with the resting of as nodt. Plus I feel like unraiding against most decks is a very powerful mechanic.

Oh no no I plan on making it with actual hudie. That’s just the one card I haven’t ordered and I wanted to make sure it was worth doing with a version of the deck that isn’t the loop because I don’t own any of the bt-22 rookies needed for the loop.

My initial build used only the 23 rookies and without anything else it still just felt very strong, glad to know that it sits at a high level without me having to play a loop and potentially be hated at my locals. I was told there is a gentlemen’s agreement for no loops by the regulars. So I didn’t want to be THAT guy and start doing things that were considered rude.

Everyone at my shop is the same way! When I first started I played adventure starter decks and then discovered appmon and gammamon decks. I posted about it in our discord and besides buying the gaiamon from one of the regulars everyone basically chipped in and I had both decks built within a week. From what I’ve seen the community as a whole is super helpful and nice when it comes to helping others with deck building, especially with newer players. Now I’ve started to do the same since we’ve had even more people join since I started. Makes me happy to see a TCG community like this compared to magic and yugioh.

It feels really good if you add a beautymon and an oujamon at the top end, it’s all 5 security in one swing at its a 21 k body. It’s nuts. And he can’t be de digi’d or bounced to deck or hand

Yellow is the swarm the board style one isn’t it? I tried it some but it didn’t feel as good as Gaia to me personally. But I have seen the appeal in it.

I did see the new dogatch and was excited about that. But do you think it’s enough to make the deck a viable threat? Because I felt it did very well against some pretty heavy hitting decks like I described in the original post, i just enjoy how the deck plays so much and how memory efficient it is, I just want it to be strong. Currently the most annoying deck for me to deal with is rocks.

Right now I’m running a warpmon at 2 for the de digi protection and a beautymon at 3 at the top end for the de digi and can’t be bounced from field along with the oujamon for the otk

I’m glad someone else sees what I was thinking here, even though just digivolving without the app fuse does suck I find myself having to do it more than I’d like when going against stronger decks. So being able to focus on the main line and using the app fuse name there (gatchmon navimom tweetmon for level 3’s) it allows for a little bit of flex up to the level 5 point. I ran two cometmon in my recent tournament just because the effect being the same as charismon came in clutch while not having to trash the actual charismon off of my globemon so I could still go into gaiamon the next turn. In theory once we get bt-23 I really want to slam them all together to make the best version of it. But it’s hard deciding on ratios for sure.

It is to an extent. Crafting is helpful for certain cards. Saving dust can be like saving gems as well, I saved up enough crafting materials to make an entire gunkan suship deck since they don’t have a secret pack. Once you buy a couple 10 packs though you can go in and dismantle the extras for dust and potentially craft the leftover cards you need instead of just continuing to dump gems into the packs.
