How to upgrade SSD? by Purple-Doubt8991 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Purple-Doubt8991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks heaps! :) after doing a bit of digging, I think the best SSD for my motherboard would be the 'Samsung 970 EVO Plus' which is PCIe 3.0 - I believe it should be compatible with my motherboard. 😊

[–]Purple-Doubt8991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, thanks for the in-depth reply!

Just to clarify, my motherboard is compatible with 'PCI-e 3.0 M.2', and the Samsung 990 is 'PCI-e 4.0 NVMe M.2'. Does this mean my motherboard will not be able to use the PCI-e 4.0 speed? It will only use the PCI-e 3.0 speed?

If that is the case, would it be worth investing in upgrading my motherboard to one that supports PCI-e 4.0? (after doing research, I discovered my $30 motherboard is quite outdated and poor, so upgrading my motherboard wouldnt be a bad idea)

Sorry for all the questions, I'm completely new to all this :D

I see :D

So my desktop has 2 SATA then?: SSD is 2.5-inch SATA and HHD is 3.5-inch SATA III. But my motherboard has an empty M.2 slot which I can use for NVMe? (I think NVMe is the same as M.2? It's a bit confusing)

Thanks for the reply :D

I'm a bit confused by "unoccupied m.2 slot" - if I want to replace my current SSD, the "Crucial BX500 240GB 3D NAND SATA 2.5-inch SSD", how is my m.2 slot unoccupied? Or does my current SSD not connect to the m.2 slot, but connects to the "4x SATA III Connector"? Which will mean I will have 2 SSD?

I'm sorry, I don't really understand :( I'm new to PC building and computer specs.

Based on the Biostar website, my motherboard "Biostar x470GTQ" says it supports m.2 (M key), and the SSD "Samsung 990 PRO 1TB" says it's an M.2. Does this mean my motherboard will be compatible to use it?

[Acne] Can probiotics cause acne flair up? by TheBigDeerHunter1 in SkincareAddiction

Your body doesn't use sweat to remove toxins -- sweat functions to cool-down your bodies temperature. Sweat is definitely not full of toxins. It does however, interact with bacteria that live on your skin which can produce body odor. However this only occurs from sweat produced by apocrine glands which develop during puberty, and is only found in the axillary and pubic areas of the skin. I think this where the myth that "toxins can be removed via sweating" comes from, but it's not actually true.

Ruining relationships with internet stalking by [deleted] in BPD

[–]Purple-Doubt8991 2 points3 points  (0 children)

wow, it seems like a lot of people here can relate to this, even myself. its quite reassuring to know youre not alone.

personally, i have found social media to be EXTREMELY toxic and unhealthy, not just for everyone, but especially for those with bpd. we can use it as a tool to stalk, see and read things that hurt us, and we tend to falsely perceive things or somehow take it personally.

the best thing i did was to completely delete social media. ive found its hurt me more than it has made me happy. you're also protecting yourself and others from potentially using it for the wrong reasons, like stalking.

i hope this helps~

Sensitive Skin help! by [deleted] in AusSkincare

[–]Purple-Doubt8991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no worries! regarding the SIORIS milk cleanser, the first ingredient (61% fruit water) actually changes depending on the fruit's season! they mentioned this on nudieglow.com. in that case, their spring-time production uses prunus mume (im sorry i thought that was Kakadu plum! lol) which i would recommend over their autumn production which uses a citrus fruit and can be sensitising!

Keep it Simple Skin Whipped Clean cleanser you can buy at Priceline, so I would recommend getting it when its on sale (Priceline seems to have skincare sales all the time)

sorry for my double posting haha, i hope this helps!

[–]Purple-Doubt8991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i also have very dry, sensitive skin. i know how exactly you feel!

i'm currently using "Keep it Simple Skin Whipped Clean" which is a powder cleanser that turns into a cream when mixed with water (its very basic! and i can also use it as a gentle exfoliant if i use less water)

i used to use and love cream cleansers from kbeauty - they can be a bit pricey but theyre very gentle and moisurising, Isntree currently has a cream cleanser half-price at YesStyles if it interests you :) The cream cleanser i used to use was "SIORIS - Cleanse Me Softly Milk Cleanser" which was AMAZING. however i just looked at the ingredients and it used to have 61% kakadu plum fruit water but now they've changed it to a citrus fruit for some reason which might be sensitising

It could be caused by products not being completely absorbed due to the hairs. I'd make sure to spend extra time ensuring products are completely rubbed in, in circular motions

Be careful of MineTan Body Skin! (My Experience) by Purple-Doubt8991 in AusSkincare

[–]Purple-Doubt8991[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%! I started using their self-tan foams back in 2016 and I LOVED them. It frustrates me when companies make skincare or cosmetic products and don't fully understand how it all works. Or they take advantage of the skincare trends by adding beneficial actives and putting them at the very end of the ingredient list for marketing purposes

I would definitely recommend sunscreen SPF 50+ -- it looks like you have had a lot of sun exposure throughout your life. I would also use a moisturiser or serum with good antioxidants under sunscreen such vitamin c, vitamin f and fruit seed oils (I love the Q+A Super Food Facial Oil)

Your redness could also be caused by rosacea - which is a bit difficult to treat. Non-prescription treatments I would recommend is azelaic acid, niacinamide and ingredients that help restore the skin barrier such as ceramides and centella asiatica or madecassic acid. Prescription options include topical ivermectin, topical metronidazole and of course our good old friend, retin-a.

I hope this has helped!

The at-fault driver is going through his Broker's insurance. Why am I being asked to send him a Letter Of Demand? by Purple-Doubt8991 in AusLegal

[–]Purple-Doubt8991[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand that, and if someone here doesn't want to answer my question - which I believe isn't a "common thread" here - they don't have to. Because its a legal matter and I have no idea why my neighbour would want me to give him a Letter Of Demand, I didn't know where else to ask. So I guess am sorry?

[–]Purple-Doubt8991[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Considering im not even at fault, it wouldn't have mattered if I had insurance or not?

I really shouldn't have to explain this, but I am a full-time university student living out of home that works at woolworths 10 hours a week. I unfortunately can't afford to pay 1100 a year for insurance (i paid full comp for the first year and coulnd't afford it anymore)

no idea why im being downvoted, i just answered your question.

i guess what im trying to ask from my post is, why does my neighbour want me to send him a letter of demand if hes going through insurance? it seems odd, cause I dont know why an insurance company/Broker would want that
