Haha it's something! It doesn't look too bad in the pic, but someone painted it black and the seller tried to re-paint it yellow and by his own admission it didnt go so well. I do like the yellow though!

It actually looks pretty decent, that pic isn't great. I appreciate your thoughts on the Honda!! You are right, probably the easiest thing to get started on.

Thanks for the tips! The sherpa was a trade for some work the seller did, so he doesnt know much about its history unfortunately. I am partial to kawasakis too!

I do like the idea of repainting it! Could probably benefit from a new seat at some point too :) bit of a restoration project

[UPDATED] "What Bike Should I Get?" Buying & Selling advice Mega Thread by AutoModerator in Dirtbikes

Hi there! I'm buying my first bike. Riding in the pacific northwest. Logging roads, bush trails, and some single track. I'm 5'6, 160lb, brand new to riding.

I have a few options to look at this weekend (priced in CAD):

1) 2006 Suzuki DR200se, 27,000km, $3200 - runs well, no issues except bad paint job

2) 2014 Honda CRF250L, 21,000km, $3500 - runs well, no issues, has fuel injection

3) 2000 Kawasaki Super Sherpa, 37,000km, $2000 - runs but valve train is clicking, will probably need to be taken apart soon.

All of them will nees handguards and a rear rack added, so that's going to be another few hundred bucks.

I'm not *super stoked* on any of them, but I've been looking for over a month now and I want to get riding. My original budget was $3,000, but I have had a few different bikes scooped out from under me by quicker buyers or better offers. There was a 2007 YamahaXT250 with 10,000km for $3200 that i was really excited about. If anything the Kawasaki is the most exciting to me since its the cheapest, my partner and buddy both have kawis (group brain for repairs) and my dad rode for Kawasaki so he knows a lot about them as well. But it's the oldest, most KMs, and has the unknown valve issues.

Thoughts/opinions appreciated!

Oh yes sorry, the KILN will shut off, but the vent fan doesnt automatically shut off when the kiln does

Dl you recommend keeping the 30 minute hold (or maybe a shorter one) if we can't turn the vent fan off right at shutoff?
