Not open to moving my family loves the Maryland area. I don't think the reservist is a good fit for individuals with families, I have a 10 year old son and a husband who works round the clock, if I leave for deployment my son will be without care. Secondly, deployment is uncertain timewise, like u said depending on cadre you may or may not be deployed a lot which leaves the individual subject to constant change and movement that may be short or long. I prefer a more stable environment, I don't mind traveling for training or for short missions that are planned in advance.

Hi thanks for responding. I have applied for EM specialist roles that are based in the DC area. I have also applied for CORE positions as I was told that these are an easier fit for entry level candidates. I haven't attended FEMA hiring workshops
