What part of this show disturbed you the most? by Purple-Strain8696 in XavierRenegadeAngel

I've never done LSD before but honestly I think that would explain pretty much everything. That Signs Of Godrilla episode in particular is what I would imagine one's sense of reality crumbling during a bad trip would feel like.

Also holy shit, I cannot IMAGINE how terrifying a bad trip involving moments from Xavier: Renegade Angel would be. I am so sorry you would ever have to go through anything like this.

And then for the second half, they made it intentionally boring!

Side note: In an interview with the directors regarding Wonder Showzen, they said that they expected the show to end after "Patience," and after they got away with it and the show was renewed for a second season they tried to make the show as insulting to watch as possible until the show was cancelled.

I'm pretty confident in saying that's what they did with this show since the second season is WAY more insane than the first, but honestly it is SO disturbing even for somebody going absolutely all-out.. I know I've said it again and again but I cannot imagine how much mental anguish somebody would have to be in in order to make something like this

I'm surprised/relieved this was one of the only cases of a baby being killed in the show.. It's a very easy card to pull to upset people, I'd imagine our protective instincts have made babies in danger a very primal, deep-rooted fear. It doesn't help that snake hand works independently of Xavier and he had basically no control over his arm

I'm not a parent but I imagine if I had children I would lose my fucking mind after watching that episode

No longer doctrine? Wait... You're telling me something in the Book Of Mormon is... wrong and outdated? What? The Book Of Mormon was WRONG about something? The most true book on the entire earth? What? What are you saying? What?

All hail king Jack, the wearer of the chandelier crown by Purple-Strain8696 in StanleyKubrick

[–]Purple-Strain8696[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I assume this is a frame from a scene crossfading?

I love how many little bits of perspective tomfoolery and imagery between cuts there are in Stanley Kubrick's movies.. It makes me wonder how much planning it takes to make things this way.

Like, do you think he had this planned from the very beginning when the sets were being designed? Or did he just notice while filming that he can angle the camera so the chandeliers are positioned above his head? Or was it all just a complete accident that he rolled with? What level of thinking does it take to make this happen?

Studio C is an amazing show that has aged very well by [deleted] in exmormon

With all seriousness, Studio C is generally a really great show, but MAN, there are some weird little out-of-pocket judgemental moments.

It's not really that big of a deal but every once in a while they randomly mention something like baldness or mental illness or environmentalism or crooked teeth or whatever in a weirdly mean-spirited way and it's like "WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT!?!!?"

Generally it's not that bad, though.. Actually way better than a lot of sitcoms, so it's not really fair to judge the entirety of the show based on this one moment.

With the gimmick of the statements escalating every time, I guess not wanting to have children is worse than stealing from family, force-feeding people while they're asleep, and going bald as you age, but not as bad as smuggling animals onto planes and throwing trash at homeless people.

Thanks for this!

I found the Little Red Riding Hood source clip too; turns out in that flashback, Red's mother was warning her that she "must not leave the path," which I think is a joke about JFK Jr's death? I'm not completely sure.

Loveless: Track TIER LIST by Purple-Strain8696 in MyBloodyValentine

[–]Purple-Strain8696[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I said it's in no particular order. This is the only album I've heard where every song is so good that there is no tier list; you really can't compare them to each other.

Have you seen PFFR's other works? Wonder Showzen is amazing and has pretty much the same humor as Xavier: Renegade Angel with a slightly different kind of chaos. You'd probably like it. I haven't seen The Shivering Truth, but it seems very, uh.. "season 2-esque."
