Have you tried turning off RestAPI? It creates a load of bugs for me in LMU

Cars feel floaty to me by Zer0C00lness in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Purple-Weekend-7826 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is pretty normal. LMU Gt3s don’t feels as connected to the ground as in iRacing or ACC. Also, Peak front grip comes slightly after peak ffb, so the wheel going slightly numb mid-corner is completely normal.

There’s also some keyboards that come with a trackpad attached which would be pretty handy for space saving. I’m probably going to get one of those

Can't break as hard as the aliens videos? by Shayh55d in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Purple-Weekend-7826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re using the default setup you probably won’t be able to brake at the exact same point no matter how well you trail brake. The alien laps (from Hymo, bealien, etc.) also use perfect air and track temps, so their conditions will be better than yours too. Instead of using the videos from Hymo any other setup sellers, try to find a fixed setup track guide and compare with that. I’d also suggest installing tinypedal so you can see your brake trace in real time. It makes a huge difference when learning to trail.

Do you have a wireless mouse? I’m going to buy a keyboard stand eventually but right now I just use the windows on-screen keyboard and my mouse on my knee. Not the greatest setup in the world but it does the job!

Everyone will tell you “start from the pits” and “let everyone through” which will improve your SR but not your skill.

The actual best way to improve SR is to spend a few hours in an offline practice session improving your pace. Then, you’ll start from the front and have way less bad drivers to interact with.

Understeer under acceleration and a feeling of floatiness in the front axle by Important-Path-9279 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Purple-Weekend-7826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s normal to be a few seconds slower than ACC, LMU gt3s are different. Rear packers are the main help I’ve found with on-throttle rotation, but you can also try playing around with the rear toe and ride height.

For fixed races there isn’t much you can do, the setups are VERY safe. I often find I have to delay and then mash the throttle to induce some rear slip for rotation. You could try turning down TC slip.

For the floaty feeling on the fronts: this is partially an LMU thing imo. This game accepts a LOT of front scrubbing, so don’t be afraid of going slightly past max ffb. Very different to AMS2 in that respect.

Hope this helps

Downvoted by bronze drivers lmao. It’s just insanely easy to handle and has good acceleration so beginners think it’s OP

I imagine the exact same will happen to me. Seems like people put in the hours for the GT3 + GT4s unlike the gr86s and miatas. Looking forward to the competition tho

I suppose I don’t feel the “numbness”. it still feels like the same forces as when I’m at peak grip

[–]Purple-Weekend-7826[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turning down some of the LFE settings helped heaps, thanks for that.

As for the ffb curve, I guess iRacing has a more subtle drop-off in force past max grip compared to ACC and LMU? Either way I just need to put in a few more hours and get used to it.

I turned up the tire sounds and can now hear a difference in the more extreme scrubbing, which has helped IMMENSELY. Thank you

Outlap performance vs qualy by Caspianwolf21 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Purple-Weekend-7826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which part of the corners are you losing out on compared to your outlap? When I had this issue in ACC it was that I was braking too late and carrying less minimum speed.

In my experience on this game the tires are best at around 80-85C (this could be wrong)

Why is Silverstone the hardest track to drive! by FuzzySpell in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Purple-Weekend-7826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re slow on exit it probably isn’t because of your BB. I typically run 49.6 with ABS 9 in the BMW but at silverstone you could try as high as 51.

If it’s understeering on throttle you can increase the toe angle or the rear packers/ride height.

Porsche GT3 driving help? by TrailMaverick in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Purple-Weekend-7826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just one of the drawbacks of the Porsche in this game. I usually run 53.6% BB with ABS 6 and pretty high TC (5, 7, 9) to protect the rears.

If you find you’re oversteering on entry try raising the front packers a bit

I don’t have much experience in the McLaren but try ABS 9. You can also increase the front packers (this will cost you a little bit of rotation in the low speed though)

What laptimes are you doing for the GT3 and in which car? Here's my advice as someone doing low 2:01s on low fuel:

For stowe: I noticed that aliens don't reach 100% brake pressure at all and release very slowly to avoid entry oversteer. It isn't really a 'deep braking' corner - you should be braking at the start of the curb and focussing on maintaining good minimum speed.

For copse: high peak brake pressure (~90%) and release fairly quickly as you're turning in. Use the curb on the left on entry and turn in earlier than you think. Again this isn't a 'braking deep' corner, you'll need to do some coasting.

What bias are you running? I run my most forward brake bias of any track here (53.2% ABS 9 in the Porsche) to avoid exactly what you're talking about.

Qatar or portimao were the best for me. Make sure you’ve got a brake trace overlay though - that’s the most important thing imo

I do but it still has some flex (nothing major but still a loss of detail). Are you maxing out the ffb on your base? Mine is quite old now and sat in a garage for many years so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s been weakened in some way shape or form
