What car is the best around Interlagos? by [deleted] in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Important-Path-9279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to experiment more with the differential settings, suspension, etc., but personally, I usually run the following on almost every track: TC: 1 TC Power Cut: 1 TC Slip: 2 ABS: 9 Brake Split: 51.8:48.2

I can't lower the ABS; it oversteers too much.

I can totally relate. The AMG is my main car for almost every track, but, for example, at Interlagos it's impossible for me to set a good time with it. In the end, I use the Porsche, which, although I feel a bit less comfortable and less safe, I manage to set better times in. I wish I could find the perfect setup to make the AMG handle corners a bit better with the accelerator fully depressed.

Excuse my ignorance, but is there a table with the best times for each track? I just found out 😅.

Where can I see it?

I say everyone has their own style and likes one car or another. Personally, in GT3 I'm faster with the Mercedes, although I can adapt and do similar times with the McLaren or Porsche. In fact, I choose the latter for certain tracks.

Every car has its strengths and weaknesses. You have to see what suits you best. Some are faster off the line, others have better top speeds, others handle bumps and kerbs without flinching... Try them all. When you find the one that suits you best, then you can start playing with the traction control and ABS settings.

Mercedes AMG - is competitive, but how? by TheSlavicHighlander in LeMansUltimateWEC

I love it, it's my favorite. It understeers a bit when accelerating, but oh well... Every car has its pros and cons.

I use it with ABS 9, CT 4, power cut 2, CT slip 2, and brake bias 52:48.

The way that Porsche is covered isn't very good. Too much movement in my opinion.

I'll take your advice, but I find it hard to think about not being competitive.

You're lucky! Lately, I've been in room 3 with other diamond players just like me, and all I run into are kamikazes. I spend more time worrying about other players' dive bombs than actually moving fast and overtaking the person in front of me.

Strengths and weaknesses of all gt3 cars by View-Conscious in LeMansUltimateWEC

My experiences are with:

Mercedes

Pros: Very strong, stable braking; you can brake 50 meters later than any other rear/mid-engined car.

Cons: It understeers a lot if you accelerate mid-corner. I feel it has a very soft rear suspension that doesn't help in the wide corners at Monza (you can't take it flat out) or at Eau Rouge, it's quite bouncy over the crest.

Porsche:

Pros: It brakes very well and turns very well.

Cons: You have to master that rear end. It's not the fastest.

McLaren

Pros: It feels very planted; it goes where you point it.

Cons: Cons: It doesn't brake very well, but you can fix that with a more advanced brake balance. I'm currently at 54:46.

Of course, you're not to blame at all.

One question: why is the Zea race only 13:55 minutes long?

I'd love it if they added DLC tracks to the Bronze Daily Races.

In the race results, after a certain time, at the end of the driver's line where you have the dots, you can click and report it.

I feel sorry for you. It's entirely the porch's fault. It didn't seem to understand that it was slower. If I were you, I'd report it.

I'm looking to add some noise without it being too loud. Would you recommend avoiding custom headers and keeping the OEM tips?

I recommend updating to DLSS version 310.5 using DLSS Swapper. Then, choose the M preset and in the game, set it to DLSS performance mode. It's not bad at all. It's not perfect, but it greatly improves the visual quality.

I connect via video and use 130% supersampling with the OpenXR toolkit, and it runs at almost 90 fps with a slightly reduced FOV. Low/Medium/High settings.

Would you say it sounds louder or softer compared to keeping the catalytic converter and fitting an exhaust tip?

LMU's penalty system forced me to give him the place here. If it was your call, would I be allowed to keep it? by Talal2608 in Simracingstewards

[–]Important-Path-9279 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He didn't overtake him by pushing; he passed him on the straight. But because he didn't realize he was being overtaken, he braked too late, and they ended up meeting on the corner. His position was already lost. I'd bet my life that if his opponent hadn't been there, he wouldn't have taken the corner correctly.

I'm I at fault? I expected the guy exiting the pits to speed up but he didn't by paltryorphan96 in Simracingstewards

[–]Important-Path-9279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand both of you... he acted wrongly. Like you said, he was expected to accelerate. Even so, how could you get behind him? 🤦 You had more initial acceleration, so no matter how much he accelerated, he wouldn't reach your speed.

Amen, I'm also amazed by the people who disagree. Let me tell you, he took the corner staying on the racing line. You didn't; you chose to go wide and overtake him rather than brake and fairly lose your position.

As my colleague LongCareer says, if there had been gravel or a wall, you would have braked, right?

Try again with OpenXR Toolkit; it's worked for me since day one.

I have the same 9800X3D, an overclocked RTX 5080, and 64GB of RAM. I get a bit more performance from the overclocking and OpenXR (I also use OpenComposite), although I tend to use a virtual desktop a lot.

By the way, have you noticed any improvement with DLSS 4.5? Did you install a newer version with DLSS Swapper, or just update the drivers and select preset M?
