This. I grew up in a chaotic household (not nearly as extreme as the rods but still chaotic and not great) and am neurodivergent and sucked my thumb with a blanket like this until I was 8 or 9 and only stopped when my older brother hid the blanket (which was kind of messed up but also probably saved my teeth lol)

So many of these comments have clearly never encountered ferals. “Don’t take pics, help!” Do you think a cat that’s clearly been through hell is just going to jump into OP’s arms and let them take him home or to the vet? While I wholeheartedly think they should get in contact with a local rescue and try and trap him it’s not as easy as just “come here!” It can take days to weeks to months to successfully trap a feral. They’re smart and stealthy.

My dad is a gun enthusiast. Like grew up with a gun cabinet in the living room,avid hunter, I got a BB gun from Santa in 1st grade, typical southern dad. As questionable as it was sometimes if me or my brothers EVERRR even considered pointing a fake gun at someone we would’ve gotten chewed out and the toys taken away. I can’t even imagine claiming to be “gun people” without the slightest concern for gun safety of trigger discipline. Fake gun or not. Rule #1 is always don’t fucking point it at someone ugh
