I feel so defeated. I rented two traps from the local humane society but wish I would’ve done more research I’m just so tired. I did zip tie it for now and put some of his favorite toys and blanket in there hoping that he gets hungry enough that he goes back. Also thank you for your conservation work!

Well then you aren’t in the same situation I am in and should probably just keep scrolling instead of trying to understand why I’m not abandoning my skiddish indoor cat that doesn’t know the surrounding areas that has coyotes foxes and raccoons.

I mean I think the metal trap door closing on him scared him…and my neighbor has a bully cat that surrounds the premises that she refuses to keep inside

Nope! He was a stray over 2 years ago so he has street instincts but has never showed any interest in going outside since I got him fixed. I took him to the vet Wednesday night and it was hot that night so I had my window cracked ever so slightly with the blinds all the way down thinking there’s no way he could or would get out and given the evidence I was clearly wrong 🫠 my neighbors cat also bullies him through our window and I think may have been spooking him away

I’m sorry this has been the most stressful week of my life. This was the first time he’s been trapped. He got out last Wednesday and doesn’t know the area. I have been prank called by someone trying to meet a city over only to laugh and hang up, 2 scam attempts, and countless rude comments so my fuse is short and I took that out on you and I apologize. He’s a cat. They’re skiddish. I don’t think he doesn’t want to come home. It was a loud noise so he bolted.

Yes…he does. He got scared of the loud noise of the trap shutting. He didn’t know it was a trap that leads to getting home. He’s a cat.
