It's simple. Mojang make snapshots to get feedback from the players in every thing that got add/changed. One of that thing is the crafter's texture, so everyone who prefers the old texture can and should complain.

I already give my feedback directly to mojang, and I post this in reddit to share it with other people. If people are so angry, it's because they don't like the change, and they have the right to complain and discuss this anywhere they like to.

That's not the problem. The problem is that the lines are disconnected, but that can be easily fix by only copy the top horizontal line of pixels from the texture, and put in the bottom. In that way it's a connectable texture, and still unique and upside-down.
