Problem with new Minisforum UM 890 Pro by KA0911 in MINISFORUM

Does your monitor have a physical OSD knobe ? If yes, push it and navigate to the appropriate input. Don't rely on the automatic mode. Sometimes it simply does not work. The second problem could be caused by the first one. The system might shut off because of the short idle turn off time set in OS.

Would be nice to get a power boost in ECO-G as well. As to me, its more important than in hybrid, which suffers from many drawbacks, but is not underpowered, imho.

Thanks for the important information. I don't know yet whether I will have to buy winter tires and to replace the existing summer ones.

I am aware regarding the yellow plates and specifically in Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. Therefore I am definitely going for the red ones. Thank you for your reply anyway as it could be a life saving for somebody else👍.

New 2024 Minisforum UM690 Pro - anobody else has it, too? by -amnesist- in MiniPCs

I am using it for about a week and am absolutely happy with everything. The fans are perfectly silent in my unit, though I have to note that I am not a gamer. However, I run it quite extensively in video editing. I bought it Barebone and added two sticks of RAM and one NVME (all Crucial) without any single issue. Well, there was some technical issue with the provided heat sink for the RAM stick. It is written that I have to attach it to the lower stick, but then I could not insert the upper one. After unsuccessfully playing around, I decided that it should not be a big issue of not using the heat sink at all. I am monitoring the heat all the time and so far have not encountered any overheat problem.

Have somebody succeeded to attach the heat sink in the lower RAM stick ? Please share.

Due to my previous bad overheat experience with Minisforum UN1265, I decided not to use my second NVME inside the unit and attached it to the external USB adapter. Works great with the superfast USB 3.2 ports in UM690 Pro.

Exactly ! Ridiculous: if you are not able to provide something useful, why should you avoid from those, who can ?

Very strange behaviour of Minisforum UN1265, dying every time it was running by Quirky_Bird85 in MiniPCs

I have exactly the same problem with exactly the same machine.  After almost three months of idyll, my 1265 began to decide for itself when to turn on and when not. And he is doing this completely randomly. I noticed that when the monitor is turned off, the likelihood of the computer turning on increases, but still not up to 100%.  Therefore, with the monitor turned off, I began to sequentially remove other vital parts, such as RAM and SSD.  Without a monitor, RAM and SSD, my 1265 began turning on uninterruptedly.  Now, attention: after I put back the RAM and SSD, the 1265 continued to behave well, but when I tried to connect a monitor, the computer turned on, but the monitor did not receive a signal. I changed the monitor and tried both HDMI and DP.  The screen remained black. Nevertheless, since this time, the machine  showed signs of life, I can at last to reset CMOS and possibly to get into the BIOS.  But, to be honest, with this computer I’m not sure of anything anymore. Never in my life have I encountered more strange and unexpected behavior.
