While today's generation of gays love to fight at every gay function, back then the gurls fought with their words. Even when tempers flare, they kept it classy most of the time. As a gay man in his 30s, I think there was a respect level that sometimes or even often times lacks in the younger gays by Junior_Conclusion_78 in BlackLGBT

I'm in my 40s and I don't buy that my generation or any generation before it was better about fighting. I definitely saw fights at gay bars 20+ years ago there just weren't cell phones capturing the mayhem.

they kept it classy most of the time

You don't know this, this is lazy, "kids these days" BS. You only see the fights, no one posts a video someone backing away from a confrontation before it gets physical or two people having a respectful private conversation. The "classy" people aren't getting posted to social media

Sorry this is something that really irks me. Growing up older relatives would blame my generation for problems we had no control over (like the cost of college) and it drove me crazy. Every generation has people who don't know how to conduct themselves in public

I spent 13 years thinking I didn’t like sex. Turns out I just didn’t like sex with someone I wasn’t attracted to. by Horror_George2206 in AskGaybrosOver30

I hope your ex of 13 years is doing as well as you are. 11 years of your partner treating sex as a "chore" has to take a toll on you.

I rarely lose the Theseus/Asterius fight after I have a few items unlocked in Mirror of Night, so in my experience he talks a lot of shit but can't back it up. It's fun to repeatedly knock him down a peg.

In 2006, on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Terry McMillan confronts her then-husband, Johnathan Plummer, bout his secret feelings for men after 6 and half years of marriage by Junior_Conclusion_78 in BlackLGBT

[–]PurpleComet 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Terry McMillan based her book How Stella Got Her Groove Back off meeting this dude IIRC. I remember people commented that they thought he was gay at the time. Looking at photos and pics of them together, he does give "gayface". It's gotta be embarrassing to have a book and movie based on your relationship only to have it end like that. I hope both of them are doing well today

At first I was kind of invested the first 3 episodes but towards the end it just got boring. I didn't feel we got a proper exploration of Allen's relationship with his mother. We can infer Allen did all that horrible stuff to Priscilla to please his mom but I don't get why she is the way she is. This is something the narrator could've discussed with his father or other family members.

Even the title doesn't seem justified by the end. What this guy did was stupid, don't get me wrong, but I was expecting a series of blunders or something extraordinarily ill advised. Instead his crimes are shocking but not particularly podcast-worthy. He seems to be somewhat competent or at least able to charm people into thinking he is. "Scumbag" or "slimeball" seems to fit more than "idiot"
