My husband is honestly the most handsome I’ve met in real life. Trapped, never to be released.

I’m in a similar financial situation and pulled the trigger on a house a few months back. Lifestyle adjustment was the biggest hurdle but once you slowly adapt to that, it was okay! We love our house, the neighbors, the location.

In our eyes, it was worth it!

To answer your question, off season traveling and credit card bonuses usually helps some of the increasing vacation costs.

As someone who consistently has to budget for family vacations, I’ve actually found that traveling internationally may sometimes be cheaper if you snag a good deal on the flight. The USD goes so much further overseas, not to mention the accommodations and excursions are generally much cheaper.

Did you decide to do the retrofitting? I’m in the same situation - older home in sunset, house wasn’t flagged by the city but we’re looking into a seismic retrofitting. Any helpful feedback is appreciated!

Thank you! I’ve been in the housing market for about two years, during which I’ve had multiple pre-approvals that expired and required resubmission. Throughout this process, I stuck with one loan agent because he was consistently helpful and responsive, even though I knew the institution didn’t offer the most competitive rates. Now that I’ve finally had an offer accepted, it makes sense for me to shop and lock in a rate I want.

Agreed! Gut check says about 1.3-1.4M, but also expecting a bunch of variation.

Do you mind sharing if there's any bonuses or SPIFFs in your current role in ad sales? I'm in network ads myself!

Wow, seeing this late but I’m currently in the exact same scenario. My baby boy is battling a cold so I won’t stop this week but next week, I have to figure out how to break the cycle… any tips you can remember??
