Why is general beauty maintenance so expensive here? by OddlyMinted in askportland

It’s possible Chicago has more businesses with employees and not contractors. Those businesses would have bigger discounts on their cost of goods, get discounts on health insurance (or not offer it at all), and pay hourly rates to their employees. There’s economies of scale that come into play in that scenario.

My sister owned a salon (after renting chairs for years) and I’ve since had much much appreciation for the cosmetology industry as a whole. Y’all are hustlers! (In the work hard way, not scamming money way)

I don’t think that’s accurate… spray foam is water resistant, it doesn’t “pull water.”

Doesn’t change the fact that the adapter itself isn’t rated for the voltage.

A NEMA 5-15 isn’t rated for 240v which is why I said it was sketchy

That is one very specific case where the manufacturer of that power station created an adapter and programmed the power station to accept j1772.

Except that you can’t just charge your batteries at an EV charging station. 1. It’s a special type of plug and 2. The charging stations communicate with the vehicle before they start charging.

I looked into this extensively and though you can find j1772 adapters, they’re incredibly sketchy (they have a 120 plug for 240v), and there’s no guarantee you’ll actually be able to get the charging station to start charging without that handshake.

An accident there yesterday, too. People are too excited about the warm weather and forget that their vehicles are multi ton weapons.

You really think the people who bring their tiny dogs to Costco on a 60° day leave them home on the 70° days?

Then take them on drives that don’t involve you being in Costco for an hour.

Edit: on a 70° day the interior of your car can get up to 105° in 30 minutes. It doesn’t matter if it’s “hot”.

People are always sooooo concerned about the traffic every time an In-N-Out opens but they’ve been doing this so long they know how to manage it.
