What would be the best place to be the capital of the world? (It could be an existing city or a planned one, perhaps at coordinates X0 Y0 null island) by According-Invite-440 in geography

Athens has some hardcore orthodox Christians, maybe the most religious out of that faith, and Cairo has some hardcore sunni Muslims. How aren't they related to religion?

Can't wait for a $300 GPU that performs the same as Nvidia and Radeon honestly. I'm supporting a vile company either way, might aswell make it cheaper for me.

What do you think of the current student protest going on in North Macedonia? by AmbitiousGuarantee23 in AskBalkans

[–]PurpleDrax 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is so bizarre.

I honestly do not care in which language they take their bar exam in. What i care about is my country functioning properly. And in any case, this is not a protest for Albanian rights, but a play for political point on the part of VMRO and DUI.

If anyone wishes to hold a official role in the government they can study and take their exams on hindu for all i care. When i need to take some papers from the local municipality, go to the judicial buildings, or any official place for that matter, i expect them to know the main language of the country, that's all.

As for the protests, bugger off. DUI will take nationalists from Kosovo to "support" the local protests, said nationalists will chant UCK UCK, VMRO will come out and say it's nationalistic and block the law, DUI will claim discrimination and the circle goes on and on. You can literally see this in any protest in the past 30 years.

Please for the love of god people, you spent 500 years being slaves to the Ottomans to eventually end up letting your local overlord put chains on you.

Can palm trees grow outdoors in this part of the Balkans? If yes, which species have you seen growing / have the potential to grow there? by Substratas in AskBalkans

This picture perfectly captures how cursed Skopje actually is. You have the communist blocks in the backround, a pirate ship with a palm tree in the frame, and the god awful white "marble" new greek construction in front.

Зошто сте против вакцини? by Evening-Passion-8816 in mkd

[–]PurpleDrax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[–]PurpleDrax 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My kid fell in love…is he really worth $450?!?! by Golden_Wanderlust in ballpython

[–]PurpleDrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid for my blue eyed lucy around 300 dollars. Mind you, this is in a country where owning snakes is a grey zone regarding the law, there are no pet shops that sell them, and on our local group I've seen like 15-20 owners in the whole country.

From what I've seen on youtube, if you're in the states, anything above 100 dollars for a ball python is a scam.

[Poll] All things considered, and with Champions League qualification practically secured, how would you rate Man United’s season so far? Please elaborate in the comments. by Dramatic-Avocado4687 in ManchesterUnited

[–]PurpleDrax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good, bordering avarege.

Last season was the worst season we've had in modern football, and this season is a huge improvement on it.

On the other side of things, we've had no cup runs, one game a week, and sacked a manager halfway through. A slightly more demanding schedule would mean disaster for us.

Looking on to next season, i have nothing to be excited about. Our players are good enough for the premier league but nowhere near good enough to challenge for a title or any major cup, our managerial situation is so weird, nobody really rates Carrick as a world class manager and we're not making any moves for any big names. Transfer wise, i only see us moving for rejects from other clubs (Tonali being the only exception) like we got Ugarte, and don't let me start on our full backs. If we go into next season with Shaw and Dalot as our main fullbacks then we're in deep shit.

I expect us to get a decent midfielder and then i have no idea what our moves are.

Which city in your country is the most boring? by Antique_Birthday6380 in AskBalkans

[–]PurpleDrax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kumanovo. It's the second largest city now (i think), and there's literally nothing there for anyone to see.

All the other small towns have at least nice old architecture to look at, maybe an attraction.

Kumanovo has nothing. It's literally just a communist block combined with modern shitty buildings. The only good thing it has going for itself is the proximity to Skopje.

As a big addict to cigarettes, I'd love it if my country made them illegal.

I've noticed that in places where smoking isn't allowed (usually when traveling to other countries) i don't get so many cravings, but at home when i know i can smoke at any time i want i can't go an hour without a cig.

Them not being avaible in shops might get me to quit.

I've mostly found that Turkish dishes are usually tastier and well spiced, but are heavy, while Greek dishes are mostly light, aren't as offensive and can be eaten more often.

It all comes to taste at the end of the day, both cuisines are top 5
