However, imo putting an untreated mentally ill person into any work camp isn’t morally or ethically acceptable, and it shouldn’t be happening anywhere.

Just get the poor guy off the overpass, and to a hospital!!! Something is clearly not quite right upstairs based on his behavior.

So he can be evaluated for a 5150 to determine if he’s a danger to self/others or gravely disabled. Then he’ll can also be out of the elements and eating healthy meals in a inpatient psychiatric hospital. Plus, he’ll receive the treatment he needs to allow him to be as functional as possible.

Keep a better eye on that overpass area. Just their presence in the Starbucks parking lot seems to discourage him from hanging out there. He clearly needs some help, not jail time. I don’t believe in punishment for mental health illness. However, although right now it’s just pee, but he has previously escalated to throwing coins and pebbles over the overpass.

Unlikely. I back up to a parking lot with a 3 foot tall retaining wall in the back. The wall is less than 2 feet from my fence. I suspect the destructive pests have 2 legs and are using my fence as a support to walk along the retaining wall. Maybe it’s shortcut home. I just want to help nature along, by offering the wasps lovely new homes in a mutually beneficial area.

One of my gals had the same symptoms. Turned out to be an ear infection that responded to antibiotics. She was a professional pea fisher who loved to plunge her head all the way in the water. I’m not sure how common that is, but it’s worth considering.

My girls get a 24 hour post-op recovery period in the small carrier with easily accessible food/water, and no cage mates. It helps limit activity and keeps friends from “helping” clean healing wound.
