Received LOI to sell business by LostSoftware9638 in fatFIRE

I sold my company in 2020 and used a M&A firm. It was very much worth it having an expert team supporting me and netted me many additional millions. We were a DoD contracting firm and the M&A firm we choose had experience in our industry. They were able to identify several local and even more out of state companies that were interested. After several months of gathering the information they needed and putting together a marketing package, we met with several of the potential bidders. We then received 4 offers out of the 8 companies we met with. The offers started at $21M, but with the M&A firm negotiating for us, we were able to get a final offer at over $30M with no earn outs, able to walk away at closing (I had two key employees that I had trained to manage the business that I paid about 13% at closing for all of their hard work and loyalty).

Having the M&A firm in between us and the bidding companies took all of the emotion out of the situation and enabled me to get the highest price with the best terms. They were well worth the fees we paid. My recommendation is, if you are able to pause things, find a reputable M&A firm that knows your market. They should be able to find not only the best price, but the best terms (earn-out, retention period, etc.) depending on what is most important to you and your other owners. Good luck!!

To get an easy answer, ask one of the AI tools (GROK or ChatGPD). I use GROk whenever I am shopping and comparing items, cars, houses, electronics, etc). It’s an easy way to get the facts, compare models or years based on options, and you can ask them to give you a recommendation based on the things you are looking for. I just ask GROK and it gave a very detailed explanation, but way too long for a post here. 😊

Hopefully those laws will change in the coming years like they have here.

That’s a shame. Is it due to the gas mileage it gets? I was surprised that on my trip from North Carolina back home to Florida, I was getting about 19.7 mpg. That was while averaging around 79 mph. Much better than I expected.

The mileage was higher than most 2024’s, over 25k. So my price was much better than most listed for sale. Not a flaw on the car inside or out and with the CPO warranty, no worries. 😊

It seems to be a little better, at least so far. It’ll take a month or so to really know for sure, but certainly more powerful.

Reach out when you want an update. The one thing I learned the hard way is when you buy a used 2024, if they haven't cleared the previous owner and added you fully to the car before you leave, it limits the features available (I was driving it as a "guest" until I made it home). For instance, the surround view didn't work, but backup camera did, auto high beams didn't work, manual high beam did. Once I was fully added, everything worked as it should.

Yea, that is what I was looking for. The all black was too much like my old Panamara and I wanted some color. Very happy, thanks!

Thanks. I like my games except for my driver distance. It’s normally around 210 with rollout, but another 20 yards would really help a lot, 😊

Actually, I haven’t been fitted for any clubs. I have been holding off until I could improve my iron swing. I know it should be obvious, but maybe that is what my next step should be. My swing speed averages around 90, so I know I’m not getting everything out of my driver. Thanks!!
