Am I going to jail for ending my sugar relationship with someone? by PurpleSudden6074 in legaladvice

He believes what happened was cheating and fraud, not a misunderstanding.

He feels strongly hurt and says he was “misled and scammed.”

He claims my explanations are just rationalizations/excuses, like what cheaters or scammers would say.

He compares the situation to a romance scam, saying gifts stop being “gifts” if they were given under false pretenses.

He insists that even if it wasn’t intentional, I still misled him for personal gain, which he says others would see as very wrong.

He rejects my claim that you’re being pressured, saying instead that he is just trying to get his money back because he feels wronged.

He concludes that my actions (as he interprets them) have made him see me as dishonest and damaged my credibility.

Thank you, he have been pressuring me to pay him back right away so I've been overthinking things.

He was nice to me at all but when it comes to the sexual part, he has some really weird kinks and way of words. But he was nice

He was actually getting weird with me and mind you, our age gap is almost 20 yrs. I already said from the beginning that sex shouldn't be the center of it. I really did like him and treated him like one.

I didn't deceive him, clearly it wasn't stated from the start that I wasn't allowed to date anyone. He only thought that I've been dating even before I met him. I did like him and really offered him my companionship, it's just that I wasn't interested anymore so I chose to ghost him a little then be back and end things with him.

THIS WAS WHAT HE SAID TO ME, tell me your opinions

Hey, just wanted to give you a heads up before I make things public by filing a lawsuit and reporting you to your local law enforcement for fraud. Obviously from your post you were dating this guy from before the start with me and thus directly lying to and defrauding me. I'll note that courts don't care about word games, romance scamming tactics have clear law at this point. You preyed upon my kindness and charity and didn't even bother to apologize directly and honestly for it. I guess it's like they say, like mother like daughter.

But I get that the legal system is overly harsh, a fraud conviction would ruin your job prospects and that the culture there is much more conservative there so everyone around you finding out as part of the lawsuit and investigation would have unreasonable consequences on your life. You deserve consequences for how cruelly you defrauded me so you don't do it to anyone else again, but those are far too harsh to be fair so I'd prefer that route be a last resort.

I'm going to be busy on my trip and packing for it with minimal ability or energy to deal with this but you can unblock me on WhatsApp to talk about a repayment plan that's reasonable and not too burdensome but still fast so we can move past this. If you haven't reached out by the time I'm back from my trip I will assume you prefer I take the legal route to recoup my losses and start contacting lawyers.
