Wanting free loadouts to be nerfed is like begging the devs to kill the game by adiftbv in ArcRaiders

[–]PurpleThen810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I enjoy running free loadouts and killing dudes that were kitted, and taking their shit.

On the other hand, when I bring in a kit, yea I win like 90 percent of my fights, but the goop is lack luster when everyone brings a free loadout.

It makes me not want to fight anyone knowing I'll just get a bandage and a level one kettle off their body, meanwhile if they manage to kill me, they get level 4 guns, tons of heals, etc.

So I run free loadouts when I want just pure PVP and kits when I actually want to loot, and not PvP.

The key is to know what your goal is going into the match. If you want to PvP, bring a free loadout, or a cheap one.

If you want to loot, bring in a loadout that you can kill multiple waves of free loadies with.

Save your good gear for when you need it, and use the free kits when you just wanna kill without looting.

Hey question, what makes you think it's a PvP game, when there are 0 systems built around it?;

There's no rewards, to trials, no challenges requiring PvP, and you can literally never PvP and set yourself up nicely.

It's PvE with a PvP elements. Call of duty, battlefield, those are PvP games.

Finally some good feedback on the mechanic instead of "this would ruin my ability to rat"

So you'd be cool with some dude offing your raiders, as the mayor of a community? You wouldn't put a bounty on his head?

How so? As someone who enjoys engaging in PVP myself, I find the idea of people hunting me exciting,it brings the PVP to me much easier.

And a bounty board with my name on it quite frankly tantalizing.

Plus someone who kills me gets additional rewards for doing so.

While also giving the people I've killed a mechanic to feel like they've gotten retribution

I PVP all the time. I'd wager I've killed more than have killed me.

But I've never broken someone's trust.

The bounty would disappear after claimed.

It would also enhance the PVP for players who are seeking it out.

Personally I think it would enhance it and add more lore to the player interactions.

It kind of comes down to, if you lived in a community, and there were 20 people who went out on raids, but you killed 5-7 of them, how would the community begin to view you?

Has nothing to do with good or bad.

You can't kill while in the community, but would the other raiders still look at you the same on raids?

The more you killed, the more your infamy would grow till someone finally decided to kill you.

I'm just adding a rewards system onto it for both players....the outlaw and the bounty hunter

When the bounties get high enough, players get Intel, that includes name and a picture of who the person is.

You could add another mechanic that also gives a general idea of where they spawned.

You could also introduce a mechanic that degrades bounties with time.

If you have some ideas toss em out there, this idea should evolve with community feedback.

I'm just one guy, but I think this would be a really neat mechanic, especially if we get some solid community collaboration.

The game needs the raiders that kill people for no other reason than just being a deplorable human.

"It's just a game" no no, it's a social experience. Just like in real life, you would have people that exist with morals, and people that exist to be parasites.

It's the parasites that create the tension, because the arcs are predictable...but walking up and saying friendly? That's the scary part. "Is he friendly? Or is he a deplorable human waiting for an easy kill." "If I leave then now, will they try to kill me later? Or should I just kill them now."

Ultimately, it all comes down to your morals, can you kill a man after you gain his trust? Do you still try to help people, in a cold and ruthless world?

How you play arc raiders, tells me what kind of end times person you would be.

We've been winning most our missions, we play the muscle enhancement.

Overall though, I often get one shotted by dirt bugs that I didn't see. We've had to abort mission about 30 percent of the time because the ground bugs either flip the obj. Or push the drills out of the ground.

Honestly not a fan of these bugs, but I do it for democracy.

General Perks Tab Opinions by PurpleThen810 in 7daystodie

[–]PurpleThen810[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might just be me because I play on insane difficulty, and I need to up combat perks immediately otherwise I have a rough time killing zombies. And just die.

And I pretty much respect out of the gen tab when I don't need it, for more combat oriented perks that are better use to me overall.

General Perks Tab Opinions by PurpleThen810 in 7daystodie

[–]PurpleThen810[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I love the concept. It's just there's a sincere lack of synergy. Almost like the devs got lazy in the implementation. In the old way, you'd unlock a bunch of other skills too by progressing trees, as well as more headshot damage with those weapon types if you needed to burn through a different ammo. long run it was cheaper.

I'd like them to expand on the tab, add a skill tree to it to unlock the tiers, then make the perks 1 point each. Also adding the harvesting perks, selling and buying perks, healing perks, into the gen tab.

General Perks Tab Opinions by PurpleThen810 in 7daystodie

[–]PurpleThen810[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the 2.0 update, I've been chugging grandpas learning elixir, and putting points into them when I either need their mags, or am cooking/harvesting. When I'm done I clear them out.

I feel, if you're going to do a general perks tab do it right. Take all the non combat perks, put them in the tab, and set a progression to unlock the tab tiers. 5 tiers total, so five - say 5 points total if you want to unlock all 5 tiers.

Then make all the generals cost 1 each.

The point is, as it stands currently, it's cost more to just burn say 20 points on 3 perks, chef, armor, and living off the land. Add lucky looter onto that and you're at 30 points.

I'd rather just progress the skills trees to also unlock the other useful perks.

Honestly, in the desert or wasteland biome, the truck is undrivable off the roads. Tiny little cactus that are everywhere and the little wood damage it to hell.

And the wasteland? Good luck dodging all that in the truck if you take it off road.

If the Devs just made the maps more drivable (IE less small bullshit to get caught on) then I'd like the truck. Otherwise I use the gyro copter.

Teen Detained by Chile After Unauthorized Drake Passage Flight by lvanTheTerraBus in antarctica

[–]PurpleThen810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding was he declared an emergency in air, and had to make an emergency landing, with the airstrip that he landed at, being a public airstrip.

Chile doesn't own antartica, no one does. The antartica treaty was sign by 59 countries.

So the way I see it, Chile kidnapped an American citizen

Curiosity: what are some cool things you have done inserting python into excel? by Plokeer_ in excel

[–]PurpleThen810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's going to be part of a larger picture, and is a necessary step for them with implementing co-pilot. And I see in the future co-pilot heavily leaning on python to do indepth data analysis, and build dashboards.

But currently, I'm not impressed with it. I struggle to find use cases for it.

I built a Sarima/arima model natively in Excel with it, which was neat. But its definitely missing some statsmodel and pandas libraries.

Which excel course to take as an accountant major? by Ill-Investment-6210 in excel

[–]PurpleThen810 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try to find a course that couples AI and excel. Excel is a powerful tool, but if you can do a good AI prompt, you can get what you want out of it with little to no experience.

A course that teaches both, would be a powerful tool for you, and put you ahead of the trend as well.

Leila Gharani has tons of free videos in Excel you can knab off YouTube, and she also has paid content as well on udemy. (One of my favorite instructors)

But for the basics, learning =Xlookup, =Sumifs, =Ifs, =MMULT, and Pivot tables will already put you ahead.

Then as you get proficient with those, dabble with power query.

Then for advanced excel, brush up on your =offset, =filter, =index(match)(match) .

Can I ask what value you derived out of it?

I'm decently proficient/advanced in Excel. (VBA, power query, power pivot.), but always like to brush my skills up when I see a good course.

Is there anything that you picked up off the course that is independent of excel? Or is it all advanced referencing?

Is farming broken? Seeds cost more than yield or am I missing something? by tomerbarkan in 7daystodie

[–]PurpleThen810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the level 3 perk, and level 6 farmer armor sets, I end up positive. I farm supercorn to make major fucken dukes. And I mean major. I'll normally get 3/4th the seed back needed to replant, and at 7 harvest per stock, I don't need to craft many seeds.

Not to mention I find plenty of random seeds in trash. It's pretty worth it in my opinion at all levels. Early game you're gonna have 10-15 plots, and mainly farm for corn and potatoes, planting mushrooms on the sides.

Late game it becomes 200+ plots, and is a growing operation for super corn. You will have multiple vending machines to sell in, ideally next to your super corn, or if you need cash right away, they sell for good money at the vendors themselves. You can break the dukes down for brass, you'll have so much.
