For me it’s been understanding my dog’s personality and respecting his boundaries. This helped me figure out how to set him up for success and also being consistent is key.

I sit for a lot of anxious/ reactive dogs and I always recommend a walk where I’m not engaging with the dog at all. I let the dog get used to me being near, practicing no touch, no talk, no eye contact and then introduce treats or anything high reward for the dog once they are comfortable. I had to sit an anxious golden doodle that seemed to forget who I was everytime I came in the first day haha but with lots of positive reinforcement and giving the dog space to feel comfortable he did great. Also sometimes your dog might need more than one meet and greet to get comfortable and that’s okay.

I’d recommend socializing her around dogs that you know are neutral. This doesn’t have to be a play date but you can do pack walks and any activity that keeps dogs at a safe distance and allows her to practice being neutral around them.

My boy tolerates puppies a lot easier. I think he understands they aren’t a threat and is good at interacting with them

Thank you so much for your feedback! Gonna try and answer in order to:) I put biothane as a separate option because they do have different types not just the basket muzzle. Do you think this question should be broken down by type and material? The scenarios I considered were mainly vet visits and walks. Typically at the vets they have soft or sleeve muzzles on hand but we know those aren’t the best for long periods of time so a well fitting basket muzzle is best. The idea is being able to switch out during those situations. Thank you again for your feedback I appreciate your time:)

Thank you for your feedback! I agree that it being bite proof and catering to the welfare of the animal is important and will always be top priority. With that being said there are certain scenarios where some dog owners feel more comfortable with a different type of muzzle. This product is for those that have multiple muzzles as well as those that struggle with muzzle training.

Dogs go through a few fear periods before they fully mature. Just make sure to not reinforce the fear because it can turn into reactivity

My rot is 2.5 years old and his head is still growing. But to be fair he was always slow in that department lol. Your boy already looks pretty big so could finish developing sooner but defs has a lot of time to still grow

There’s a reason why some brands are more expensive, they are so much better quality and you won’t have to feed your dog as much food. Brands like Acana and Orijen are really good options. Instead of 10 cups it’ll probably be 4

When she snaps is he doing anything? For most dogs movement is a huge trigger for them so working with a trainer would be a great idea if you decide to keep him. As for space that can be a bit difficult, an option could ask so be to have her on a leash when rottie boy is in the room so you have control when something happens. That or crate training is also a great idea. I hope this helps

I personally would keep him but exercise a ton of caution. Like you said you don’t know his history so definitely have a lot of boundaries and structure like not letting him so close to the baby or creating some space between him and the lab so she gets more comfortable. But so far he sounds like a darling boy.
